Balkans DLC should be next?

After the Vikings update, I think the next big update should be a Balkans civilization dlc, consisting of three new civilizations, the Serbs, the Croats, and the Vlachs, as well as including a Turks update alongside it.

No thankyou. Enough Europe.

I’d sooner see Africa first, or more America, or a better East Asian DLC.

Instead of this Viking splitslop yes, but if this DLC never happened then ofc Africa instead.

The next European DLC should be Balkans. However I don’t expect another European DLC before 2 years. I think we may see African, North American or Saracens split DLCs before a new European DLC.

I really would like them in the game (as the last euro DLC), but first some Africa, please. There are at least 10 African civs needed to cover all of the continent.

I absolutely agree with you. Balkans DLC is a must. We could have at least Valachs and Serbs, and why not Croatians.

About the campaigns, there is much to do. New campaigns for Serbs, Croatians, Turks, Slavs and Hungarians, and Vlad Dracul campaign reworked for Valachs.

EDIT: I would love a new and more historical campaign for the Byzantines; and it could fit in the Balkans DLC. But I even less count on it.

We should wait a while for more Europe, but I think at least 50% of the total civs in the game should be European. The Balkans need to be the main priority in Europe.

In my opinion,.the Vikings update was completely unnecessary, and Ive been wanting a balkans update in the game for a while. I fully agree that Africa should get more civs , but I think the game needs a balkans dlc before that

Adding these and completing europe is a better choice than breaking up old umbrella civis.

This implies they wont just go do that anyway

I know, its just wishful thinking atm.

Yes. This Viking Sagas DLC should have been the Balkan one.

We need a Balkan DLC to finish up Europe and then focus on other continents.

It would give:

  1. Serbs, Croats, Wallachians and Albanians.

  2. Byzantine architecture for Byzantines, Armenians, Georgians whoever else.

  3. Byzantines get Greek voices, the Cheirosiphons and Monasteries.

“Finishing Europe” what nonsense. Why should Europe be “finished” while other contients languish? And anyway, as soon as Eurooe is “finished” there will just be more cries for even more obscure additions for Europe.

I prefer good European DLC rather than some 3K non-Euro DLC tbh.

This was bad because the devs lost their minds and lawyers intervened. Not because it wasn’t focused on Europe.

100000% agreed, I hate this pop-culture DLC while Balkans could’ve delievered better campaigns on different civs rather than Vikings x3 times…Feels like it’s a “touchy area” like Tibet (tho Armenians had a message in the news when they got added) so devs wanted to go for theAoK splitslop when Vikings are already fine.

If there was no Viking DLC then Africa would’ve been instead.

Finishing up Europe is not nonsense. We got two DLCs that gave us 9 non-European civs. I welcomed them both enthusiastically without advocating for more Europe (3K later turned into a disaster).

My first reaction to the Vikings Saga DLC was that it is unneccessary. I would have preferred a DLC for Meso/North America, Middle East, Asia, Africa etc DLC over this Vikings DLC. I don’t like civ splits. You watch the forum closely so you probably already saw my posts.

But if the devs are willing to provide a Vikings Saga DLC, they should also be willing to do a Balkans DLC. So now with this development, I want a Balkan DLC most of all. The Byzantine Empire is especially neglected by the devs. They don’t even speak Greek.

Feel free to disagree but do it more respectfully. Thanks.
