**[BUG]** Enemy Buildings Return Invisible when not in LOS

Anyone else having issues with ai line of sight?

So if I explore the map in campaign it show me buildings in grey and removes black cloud and fog of war then fog of war reappears when there’s no line of sight.

If ai ally explores area it doesn’t ever indicate if there was a building there it has nothing in the fog where it would show if I explored.

Any particular reason? I thought the sharing of the los was to help locate buildings, how can I do that if they leave an area after exploring and the building don’t show up as even being built

There also seems to be a wonder missing in the 3rd mission of Dracula in the grey colored City. There is a big space with flags around it but nothing. The objectives state to destroy all castles, town centres and wonders but I encountered no wonders

Oh my FFFFFF ! Fix this bloody bug already!!! It is a curse to have a ally when playing the campagin!!!

Bug still occurred in Sforza first scenario in build “101.101.34223.0 4509956 Steam”.

Yeah it still happens online as well

Game Version:

  • Build 101.101.34223.0 4509956
  • Platform Steam

Issue:

Buildings disappear as they are leaving LOS of units

Reproduction Steps:

I have found it in 1st mission of Sforza. Watch the red Cavalier on the right side of the screen.

Game Version:

  • Build 35584
  • Platform Steam

Issue:

When an ally with shared line of sight scouts enemy buildings, they disappear into the fog of war. If I scout them myself, then they reappear, only to disappear again if they are scouted again by an ally. So far, this has happened on Barbarossa 6 and Alaric 4.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Start Barbarossa 6 or Alaric 4 on standard difficulty with HD graphics
  2. Let allies scout enemy buildings and watch them disappear into fog of war

It seems like this bug has been in the game since launch. How has it not been fixed?

I also saw this bug in Sforza 1. I’m surprised that such a major bug has been left unfixed for this long. It makes any scenario with an ally much harder, though it doesn’t occur in every such scenario. Can we get an update on this bug? Is it being worked on? Is there any info that would help with finding a solution?

This bug is also present in Prithviraj 2, but only for buildings belonging to Naga. Is there any hope of fixing this bug?

Hey there @ThreadierBirch0! Do you have an image or video of the bug in action? It looks like most of these LOS bugs have been fixed up in recent patches, so getting a list and screenshots of where it is still occurring will help us escalate it to the development team.

Thanks for the report!

The bug is exactly as described in older posts. I have not played all of the campaigns yet, but so far I have come across this bug in Barbarossa 6, Alaric 4, Sforza 1, and Prithviraj 2. They all seem to be cases of gaining LOS with allies after the start of the game.

Here are some screenshots from Barbarossa 6. In the first screenshot, there is an allied longbowman under attack from an enemy mameluke. In the second screenshot, taken right after the first, the mameluke has killed the longbowman, and the nearby market visible in the first screenshot has disappeared.

This bug presented itself in a unique way in Sundjata 4. A few minutes after starting the game, I was granted LOS with Mema. At that point they became my ally but did not yet declare war on Sumanguru, and the bug applied to them. A few minutes later, the same happened with Fakoli. After tributing them gold and building a castle in their base, however, Fakoli declared war on Sumanguru, and the bug no longer applied to them. Fakoli could now scout Sumanguru’s buildings and they would not disappear in the FOW. The same happened with Mema after I liberated their princess.

The bug is also present in Suryavarman I 2.

Thanks for the additional campaign notes! I can confirm that the team is aware of the issue and are working on a solution. :+1:

From what I see the team was aware 5 months ago

I appreciate the response. The bug is also present in Suryavarman I 5 (Nirvanapada) in a way that might be informative. The bug applies to Dai Viet after they make their offer to attack Cham in exchange for 1000 gold but only when they scout the buildings of the factions with which they are not at war. They bug does not apply to Dai Viet when they scout Southern or Northern Cham.

I just played Tamerlane 1 (Amir of Transoxiana), and the bug was not there. I guess it was fixed in this particular mission. Since this was the original report, that may be why the devs thought it was fixed.

In Tamerlane 2 (Gurkhan of Persia), it seems that Isfahan (cyan) has this bug only when scouting the factions they are at peace with (Herat (blue), Zaranj (green), and Soltaniyeh (red)) but not Tabriz (orange), who they are at war with. Sabzevar (gray) does not have this bug with anyone. The same happens in Tamerlane 3 (Harbinger of Destruction). The Golden Horde (yellow) has this bug with Ryazan (gray) and the Italian Merchants (blue) but not Astrakhan (orange), Sarai (red), or Azov (green).
