'Bulwarks of Christendom' DLC Suggestion

This is beginning to sound like interesting civ design.
The farm bonus will result in better-than-slav farming in post-imp when a single vill is placed on a farm adjacent to a mill, but that’s probably ok.

just a few things:

no need for this imo

that will (probably) have to be something like +20 HP rather than a percentage bonus. Both because Aztecs would be busted otherwise, and because of the way it’d have to be implemented.

Yeah right

I don’t know what to say new mechanics. So I need to see in action. We didn’t mean “unique” means new mechanics, just don’t use already used bonuses.

It needs to lack Hussars then, if you want to put this. Because they are great raiders.

We need to see it in action. We don’t know tech tree and unique unit stats.

You need to give integer. So if it’s 4 Castles +1 attack, it’s non-sense. +1 in Imp better.

I think they mustn’t get Steppe Lancer.

Instead of +15 HP, +5 or +10 better because Aztec monks.

I know this is not the point, but still, Khmer was a civ that was added 4 years ago, also I’m pretty sure most of the civs you mentioned are balanced as of now…

The only solution is splitting the player base, which is against what DE was about

But then again, people asked for this and they got it

2 castles for +1 attack seems reasonable (as well as the +1 imp attack)

I think they will be safer version of Lithuanian bonus so I think making it low limit makes sense (you can take just +1 from Castle)

For a maximum of +3 (so 8 or more castles won’t add more).
And this is for all cavalry

It is 6 Castles, you can usually have 4 Castles, with some extra stone it’s possible to get 6. Also this effects Scout-Line and easier to get than Lithuanians.

Yes but maybe Poland won’t get the last attack tech

There is no Crush Armour in AoE2, that is just in Age of Mytology.

To truly reflect Polish history the civ design should be split into two parts: before and after the feudal split. Polish military before and after wasn’t the same so the civ should be Infantry in Feudal and Cavalry in Imperial while not very good in Castle (either Rush or FastImp, FastCastle not feasible), with probably some defensive focus in Feudal as well. Should be pretty good in Monastery and University and rather weak in Archery Range. Strong food and wood (i.e. trash) economy, regular gold and stone, very poor at sea.

This is a much better mock Tech Tree, to be honest.

There are only somethings I would personally change:
-Blacksmith discount removed, since civ would already have 3 bonii, and one of them is a very strong Eco bonus.
-Polska Hussar replaced with Hussar Lancer (or Winged Hussar) as upgrade to normal Hussar, like Indians get for Imp Camel.
-UU becomes Bombard Wagon, which gives access to a Bombard unit in Castle Age, but it has much less Range than a BBC, which it get only in Elite version.
-Wagon Forts is a big Armour upgrade for Bombard Wagons, +3/+3.
-Loses Trebuchet for uniqueness, and because UU is already a long-range Siege unit in Imperial Age.

That would be really overpowered. Hussars are already insanely strong.

I have another civ similar to that.

Not really, Hussars are only strong for Trash units, they trade badly against most Gold units.
You could also make the upgrade much milder in stats and cost, than the Imperial Camel.

Indians, Ports and Khmer weren’t in the game 20 years ago.

this is actually a substantial nerf unless you adjust the food on a farm.

the problem i see with this is that their knights and cavalry in general would be weak as heck until imperial age. also don’t know what the stats on the pancerni are so its hard to judge.

can i ask where you came up with that mock tech tree at? or is it just a excel spreadsheet?
also i can’t say for sure but that civ seems really strong. the combo of cheaper Stable techs and Eco upgrades + an insanely cheap cavalry UU with 1.7 sttack speed scares the crap out of me.

With all of your “bad design” claims, I see where you are going: seal the civ pool at least. Profitability or whatnot might not be something top in your priority chain. But certainly that’s now how dev sees it. So we are here.

Plz, devs, do one Western Slav civ (call it the Wends) to represent Bohemia, Poland + Polabian/Pomeranian tribes.

Then move on to other umbrellas.

I do wanna see a Hussite campaign, but there’s a ton of interesting stories to be told about other parts of the world, too.

I think it is possible to invent better bonuses for each of this civs
But generally i agree that game should has more civs, but not only from Europe

Or Poles and Bohemians to each represent part of the Wends as well as themselves
