I think all of you are misunderstanding the situation - clearly Microsoft is going for an authentic ™ Medieval experience by insuring only members of the Aristocracy can compete in a big tournament. They are just staying true to their vision.

He is probably talking about super obvious design mistakes like Chinese dynasty button in the middle of the screen blocking vision and no council member telling devs about this.
Because if you did and your feedback was rejected, what was their reasoning for their rejection? “We are going to leave the button there because ???”
There is no way even simple stuff like this was mentioned, since they would have had no reason not to listen to such obvious feedback.

So yes, I get it, devs are incredibly out of touch not to realise issues like these. But the council?

There is some overlap, but not all council members are content creators.

This is ridiculous dude. It’s a pretty wide practice to allow certain people early access to a game before launch so that when the game comes out they can speak about it and show it off. This was traditionally done with journalists, which is why many game companies had a “press pack” that they would allow journalists to apply for. These days the biggest reach you can get for a game is a popular content creator streaming or making videos about their game, so of course they’re going to extend the press advantage to content creators.

I’m a little annoyed by the head start as well, but thats mostly because I’m so anxious to get my own hands on it. I was never going to compete with the people who are getting this access, even on a clean slate meta.

I’ve never understood this, it’s pretty clear he’s been uploading content from the stress test weekend, Drongo is not still playing TST, and neither is anyone else. There are 0 players online in the stress test, and haven’t been since about a week after it ended, just check steamdb.

the nondisclosure agreement does not allow me to discuss my feedback or the feedback of anyone else I spoke with. I am puzzled how that fact of life gives you reason to conclude you should be blaming me for the game that I am not going to be playing and have publicly picked apart for months.

I wish the very best for AoE4, but it does not bring me joy, and I do not believe it is going to.

There is some missinformation about the council then, i thought the council was formed with the actual AoE 2 pro players/content creators or something like that and also this post:

I would like to add that part of these people are the same people who have been in this rather useless community council, and didn’t care enough for AoE4 to call the devs for a lack of UI selection box displaying individual units, keybindings and many of the game’s shortcomings that will doom it from being a worthy successor of the AoE name. But when it’s about money, then yes they are the first in line.

So they basically did not listen to you? Andy I am quite sure you are one of those who have clear what are our most commom complaints, at least it has been my thinking

You can assume anything you want. You’ve been doing a lot of that in this thread and in others. You just didn’t provide any evidence to back it up. People shouldn’t break NDA and get in trouble just to rebuke your silly suppositions, and even if they did you will just claim they are lying so what’s the point?
