another win7 user here. pls fix also getting “CreateFile2” in “KERNEL32.DDL” error upon start
Another win7 user here, so still no news on the “KERNEL32.DDL” issue?
Come on…
I was very upset that I can no longer play this game that I paid for on my old computer, but I can confirm that this link posted in the topic by @hebrogaming in a reply on Feb 8, '23 will fix it (at least for sp),
Adding to the list of people no longer able to play the game that ran flawlessly for 4 years. I get win7 isn’t supported, but we were forced to “update” with a patch that deliberately broke a working product. It’s not like the customers had any say in the matter and could keep the old working version. Could we at least be given the option to revert back?
Incidentally exact reason why most people don’t want windows 10 - the forced / mandatory auto-updates is one of the many “features” that make it a downgrade and a worse OS in comparison.
Never had forced auto updates on win 10/11 myself.
I can confirm that the new update didn’t fix this issue
Can you try this? The new PUP build works on Windows 7!! :: Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition General Discussions
Win7 user here as well, i recently bought company of heroes and had this issue, then decided to play some aoe2, same issue, looks like its across all steam games? and will this be fixed soon?
No the Pup build doesn’t work in multiplayer. Maybe you can play with other people who use the pup build…i dont know. but i’ve been waiting for over 10 minutes multiple times now, just to stress test this, and i couldn’t find a single match in 2v2. This is not the solution i’m afraid
IT WORKS!
The recent patch seems to have fixed it, the game launches as normal. Thanks for fixing it devs
Hopefully it works for all of you guys
Yes it works again, thanx for repairing it!!!
Can you guys play multiplayer? The multiplayer option appears greyed out for me. When I try to reconnect to the server, I get the following error message:
Add the whole folder of the game to your antivirus exception list.
I’ve tried excluding folders, disabling antivirus and firewall, but the same thing still happens.
I found this other article, which talks about outdated certificates. But I don’t know if they can still be found.
