Cannot Play as DLC Civs but I own the DLCs

Exactly the same issue. Purchased African Royals upon release. It was working fine until yesterday, when It says New DLC Available, and I already own the game. USA still works.

Same issue, i see someone mentioned trouble shooting I don’t know how to run it. I tried repair in app settings and it didn’t fix the problem. :sob:

SOLVED THE ISSUE
Solved by an unusual way. I updated my OS from windows 10 to windows 11 and now civs are unlocked.

My computer isnt able to run windows 11??? 90% of computers in the world right now cant update to windows 11??

I’m really mad with this sh*t, I pruchased the DLC African Royals as soon it came up and I can’t play it today!!! Is missing 3 achievements and I will lose them if this is not fix!!! What is wrong with you guys?

I fixed it.

  1. Disable both Microsoft Gaming Services.
  2. Reboot the computer
  3. Open Powershell Run As Admministrator
  4. Run the Powershell Command
    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
  5. Hey Presto it works.

Excuse me but it is not solved because I can not use those civs and there are no available updates or downloads on Microsoft Store.

Microsoft Store: Update not showing in - this has instructions on how to :hammer_and_wrench: Use Powershell to Repair or Reinstall the Microsoft Store app. This appears to have worked for some users.

If this issue persists after attempting the troubleshooting then please let me know and we can go from there.

I Bought both America civilization and Mexco civilization dlcs and were both installed but I still cannot play Team America.
I followed povided instructions but still can’t play America

Hey @SpicyDog247!
When viewing your game within your Library on the Microsoft Store, scroll down to “Ad Ons”. Does it show the DLCs as being Installed?

If it not clearly shown in the Microsoft Store, you can also check the Xbox App’s Library using the same Microsoft account.

The Xbox App should display the DLC like this*:

i bought both expansion packs mexico and usa and its not showing up. i bought mexico 2 times.

i update my PC and did the root trick that was posted nothing is working. please help!!!

I have the same issue with the USA DLC. Game won’t register that the DLC is downloaded. When I would click on the info button for the DLC I’d get the error PUR-UserAlreadyOwnsContent W36kpli5uEyJkcEG.2.4.1.2.1

Hi, I tried everything listed here including the powershell script method and nothing worked for me on my PC. Obliviously extremely frustrated like everyone else.

I decided to go into Xbox app on my smartphone & searched for AOE III, scrolled down to add ons, selected the DLC I purchased (US & Mexico Pack). Then there was a green install button on the add on page. I clicked it and it notified me on the Xbox app on my PC that they had been installed. I loaded the game on my PC and finally they were unlocked and available to play.

My version of AOE III DE is from Game Pass & I purchased the DLC separately.

The whole process was really frustrating, but I hope this helps someone out.

i have the same Problem but on Steam, has somebody an idea how to Fix it? i cheked my game data and reinstalled it, but still i cant use the DLC
