Cannot Play as DLC Civs but I own the DLCs

Same thing, also Steam. I own all DLCs, but USA stopped working just a few days ago. Other DLC civs are available

I’ve tried all the suggested solutions. ALL of them. There’s absolutely nothing I can do on my end to fix this.

For most people with this issue you’re just going to have to wait for them to fix it. Sad times.

i have same issue, also steam. My USA DLC. Sad.

Yeah, I lost my US DLC today and I lost my explorer skins, like all of them. Not just for the US. Lost my Chinese ones, which I got from the Chinese New Years events, but I also lost the skins I just paid for the other day with that bundle lol.

Sure hope the devs fix this sooner than Chinese New Year.

que raro, osea que solo te falla el DLC de EE.UU y el de mascaras de exploradores, pero el resto te funciona? mmm a mi por lo menos no me han falladao nunca, quien sabe cual sera el error, me parece curioso

Seems like this coincided with a steam update. Therefore, this is on steam to fix I reckon.

I’m curious how you were able to download and install content to a PC for AOE3 over the XBOX app. I installed the XBOX app on my android phone, and none of the DLC I own is listed there using the search button, and though I was able to find the AOE3 game, there is no install button. Maybe something has changed with the XBOX app that now disallows installing apps to a PC.

@Breadalus, wondering if you are still actively looking into this issue, as it seems many others have experienced something similar to what I’m experiencing and not everyone’s issue was acknowledged as resolved in this thread.

I purchased the AOE3: DE game in 2021. I purchased the 4 DLC’s (U.S., Mexico, Knights of Mediterranean, African Royals) in September and November of 2022. I was able to play these civs in the game until about a 3 weeks ago, when I purchased a new PC. I can still play the DLC civs on the old PC. I can download the game and install the DLC on the new PC with no error messages, from the Xbox app using the same login I used to purchase the content. But as with others, when I launch the game the DLC civs are locked out. I tried all of the trouble shooting steps listed here and on other forums. Resetting the Store and Xbox apps did not work, the powershell solution didn’t work, uninstalling/reinstalling, setting the 4 Xbox ā€œServicesā€ in Widnows to Active did not work, completely reinstalling Windows, etc. Today I spent two hours online with Microsoft support, and while the person was genuinely helpful they weren’t able to resolve the issue either.

As I mentioned, I can still access the DLC on my old PC; it is only on my new PC, which is the only one that I care about, where I cannot access the DLC within the game. I have no other issues accessing content through the Xbox app for the other games that I own. I also reached out to AOE3 support previously via email and they suggested I request a refund from Microsoft, but that is not an option for me due to having purchased the DLC over a year ago.

I noticed that the civ ā€œlevelā€ progress, i.e. the number shown next to the civ on the Skirmish screen, is different in the new PC (where I have played a few non-DLC skirmish games) than what I see when I play a skirmish game on the old PC. It’s almost like there are two different versions of my gamer tag that the game is recognizing. And lastly, even though I cannot select the DLC civs to play for as myself, when I select random AI opponents to play against in a skirmish, it will sometimes select one or more of the DLC civs!

I am happy to troubleshoot in more detail if there something else you think I should try.

Not sure why, but it scrambled my gamer tag: it is Green T bagger 1
