thoughts?
this is a bad business decision doom to be not selling well
another 12th-13th euro civs pushing the euro >50% playable civ is plain bad production idea
edit:
It will sell more, even if it is a Frictional Knights of the Round Table and LOTR DLC

well, it is not my investment after all.

PLC finally in the game! I’m super happy. Civ with potentially many unique units, mechanics/cards. They just should be in game historically too.

Presentation was a disappointment on the other hand. No title, no release date, no gameplay, not even name of the civs said by presenters. That’s a shame simply.

Aaaa, I’m glad someone here can enjoy the news.

While it wasn’t my first pick I’m sure there will be some joy there

We’ve waited long enough for new aoe3 content, but just giving the flags and saying ‘late 2024’. After giving us no new content last year. That pissed me off.

With a black sheep game like ours, I’ll take whatever we can get. I’m happy for the new content, although it would’ve been nice to see the devs take a stab at an Asian style civ or other cultures, I’ll still happily accept Danes and poles, I was expecting Malta and Italy to be the final civs added so any news is good news to me :+1:

The flags were leaked a long time ago, it’s been years for them to only announce the flags that have already been leaked, the truth is, garbage streaming of Age of Empires better they wouldn’t have done it, there wasn’t even a date

This.

So very much this.

Just even they way the game got announced, in this condescending rather childish manner ontop of 2 flags. No units no nothing.

Just really a low blow and then end of the year?!

I just want my Winged Hussars trainable without an alliance!!

The challenge for AoE3DE fans happy with dlcs for any civs impossible.

Stop dooming and complaining dude.
Be glad we will have new content to the game!

I’m happy for those who wanted these civilizations, but I personally am disappointed. (I didn’t expect the developers to add more European civilizations so soon)

I’m glad we will get new content added to the game, but not the way that was presented.
You could give us a trailer, a preview of the gameplay, concept art, some close-up animations or the title of the DLC at least.

I have to echo this. To release it with just the flags and not even formally announce the civ names or the DLC title is just bad marketing - or, SOP for this marketing team when it comes to Age 3. It’s basic stuff they just didn’t do. Typically, if you wanted to build hype, you’d actually announce some details. We got none. All we were told is that it’s 6 months away.

I’m not sure which is less compelling: being ignored entirely, or getting such a low-effort lackluster announcement as this. Sorry WE, y’all messed this one up.

Very excited! I’ve been hoping for these two to be in the game for a long time. Sure it’s a bummer that we did not get more civs from East Asia or the Middle East but it’s still great that we are getting these!

At least now we know more certainly that any future DLC after this will be focusing outside of Europe.

nah, anything outside Europe will be placed after San Marino and Andorra. got to make 33 more euro civs before that

my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

I just hope they stop it here for the european civs and don’t go into obscure duchies like they did with Malta or the stuff from AoE2

Maltese were pretty much an easter egg gimmick civ. But I wouldn’t surprised if the devs continue lowering the bar to full out the roster with more euro civs, which is a shame.
They could make this game into a truly global installment of the franchise, but instead the developers are currently hyperfocusing on Europe. The historical detail these civs get compared to the others is telling.
My hopes are that we will get non-Euro content along with patches leading up to release.
