 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
After updating the game today and downloading the Lords of the West DLC, the game crashes the entire system every single time I start a match. Reproduced even in “typical” 1v1 arabia Skirmish mode against AI. This forces me to turn my PC off/on because all of the resources end up used up.

Alt-tabbing to task manager shows that CPU and GPU end up growing towards 100% usage within the first minute of the game, before the crash occurs.

My system information:

  • Nvidia GTX 1080ti OC 11GB
  • intel i7 7700k
  • 16GB RAM
  • Playing on Samsung SSD.

Note: A friend has told me the exact same thing happens to them.
Note 2: Could possibly be related to Game crashes right at the begining of the match

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

 List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Select Skirmish mode
  2. Start game with any conditions, civilization, map etc.
  3. Play normally until the game crashes within the first few minutes.

 What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

The game does not use up 100% CPU and GPU and does not crash.

:arrow_forward: IMAGE

 ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.

I am unable to attach an image because my PC literally dies when this happens.

:arrow_forward: GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)

 Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe2spgame) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe2record) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file service.
