i don’t think this is a problem with our routers/modems as me and my brother are using the same internet but the multiplayer works grand for him but it disconnects for me. its fairly embarrassing that a problem effecting so many people has taken so long to fix.

So I managed to solve the problem by setting my ISP modem/router to bridge mode. No crashes so far, and a good workaround.
Still, I don’t think this should be the final solution.

I don’t get disconnected when going via VPN.
I have been playing these weekend several matches with my mates, and all the matches have crashed on of us suddenly crash, other times the game start to go very very slow the game does react to your commands after minutes… The multiplayer experience of this game is very poor.

Using a VPN, like Private Internet Access, removes this problem and the ethernet adapter doesn’t reset
I am also affected by the no lobby bug
Hope this gets fixed soon. I still have faith in the devs but I have to admit I havent been able to play since launch and I does feel really bad, becuase I think I would have alot of fun with the game if I would be able to play it normally.
Until further ill keep playing starcraft. One day I can hopefully play both

Problem still persists after the March patch, shame the theme looks fun. Can you tell us what routers are compatible ?
So I also had this problem and could fix it by disabeling the Enegergy saving from my Ethernet-controller in the Device-Manager. After this Update the Problem is back and i get kicked every online game after 5mins. Please fix

Since the beta testing of the game I had this problem. So before 14th november already.
Loaded a saved game for the 17545454th time after the usual crash. This time, loading the save file makes the game crash to desktop. Renamed the save file, accessed the lobby. Tried to start the game, but now it says “the game countdown was canceled”.
This is an endless joke. I give up.

When I first bought this game, the great grizzly bears of North America were starting their long hibernation for winter, and I was looking forward to playing some AoE2:DE with my buddies.
…133 days ago.
They are starting to wake up now…
…And I am still looking forward to playing my first ---- game of AoE2:DE with my buddies.
Today, with hopes not high, I downloaded a 6.7 gig update/patch for this game.
I was able to con some buddies, who frankly, are sick of TRYING to play with me … you know, because I ruin the game with ALWAYS getting disconnected, to re-install the 14 gig game.
133 days later, I still get disconnected every single match.
I will post my modem info and what not in the future, if that is still a thing…
I noticed people did 14 days ago… and judging by all the recent “network disconnection” pictures after this recent update. I’m getting the impression that it — didn’t go over well.
In these recent times, I have become pretty good at washing my hands. I just wish i wasn’t so close to having to wash my hands with my favorite game of the past

Hi all, same thing keeps happening to me. However, the error message is slightly different (see screenshot). Also the problem comes and goes: A couple of weeks ago I was playing dozens of matches without disconnecting, the week before that I had several disconnects. This week I’ve not been able to play a single game due to this error. I’ve tried both using wifi and also with the ethernet cable directly in the router - same result.

They have a ‘user-system’, and the ‘servers’. They host the games.
From this point, to make a reconnect system to the game MUST BE VERY EASY.
