ROUTER HGB10R-02
NET- BRASIL
congraTulations for the nice work… this is the second time i have bought this game, and for the second time I’m really disappointed… only today I have tried to play 7 games and in 5 of this games I’ve disconected. You asking for more information ever, but u havent doing nothing until now… if you really need more informations - what I realy think is a lie - look for in steam. In the community u will find a lot of people whit the seme problem… SHAME
how much longer do you take to solve this problem? we deserve a decent response from you, the developers. you have only answered us with more questions - what shape, router? it matters little to us, the problem is yours but whoever has paid is all of us who are here writing and wishing for a resolution. be ashamed, as we are ashamed of you - a huge company - and do something, have a little more respect for us, as we had for you when we bought your products
I play with 2 devices:
- This is a point-to-point link Internet (ie. using an antenna), it has some little lag but nothing problematic. But the last days I had 2 disconnections out of ~25 matches. Never had problems before
Router: TP-LINK TL -WR820N (using wired or WiFi doesn’t matter)
ISP: LG Comunicaciones (not the big LG, it’s just a little ISP from here), Argentina- This is using my 4G cellphone in tethering mode. Before the update I had zero problems, with the february update I started having disconnections on every match. After the hotfix I had only one match without disconnections, every other one disconnected after ~5 minutes.
“Router”/smartphone: Xiaomi Redmi 6A
ISP: Tuenti, Argentina
Just for fun I’ve tried using my old smartphone with another phone company in tethering mode and I’ve played 5 matches without disconnections and excellent ping (even one 4vs4 match where the enemy team won using a wonder, but that’s another story).
So there is that. I doubt the problem is the smartphone (because, as I said, it ran well before). Maybe the problem is with how the ISP trace the routes in the region?
This config worked (at least for 5 long matches
)
- Router/Smartphone: LG Leon
- ISP: Claro, Argentina
EDIT: +15 games after the last 5 and they all ran perfectly, no disconnections at all, weird.
Modem : TC7337 NET
ISP: NET Claro, Brazil
If this game doesn’t work for such a large number of users, the modem may be set up differently, but the problem is still in the game! There is no solution to switch to another provider for just one game. I have 350 games in the library on my steam account and they all work correctly. Just AoE not. So, because of one game I had to flip everything, I don’t think the problem is with 300 users in this thread.
Same issues as above… The game crashes almost everytime I play. I love this game and I really need this fix to happen ASAP. I will list my details of the system below to help out…
Router - Nighthawk X4 AC3200 Netgear (C7500)
Computer - Dell XPS 15 9560
Processor - Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU 2.8GH, 4 core, 8 processor
RAM - 32gb
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
Location - Boston, MA, USA
ISP - Comcast/ xfinity
Did not worked for me.
I do not understand how an official release has this many problems, 50% of my games are disconnected because of servers or get the game crashed.
Br server
gtx1060
i7 8750h
16 gb ram
game installed in sdd
Can’t believe this is still a problem - got a few friends that can’t play with me due to this issue.
I assume, that this is not problem with game itself. I had the same issue with Two Point Hospital. Same platform (PC), same account, same XBOX GAME PASS.
My internet disconected, and after windows reboot everything was working fine.
continues also after Feb’20 update
Thank you all for replying back with your hardware information! I’ve compiled it all into a report for our QA and development teams
[Here’s where I offer the disclaimer that everything below is speculative, but is being offered for your benefit.]
The belief right now is that the disconnect is due to the router or modem hardware itself, since the people who experienced it internally were able to address the issue with a different or new router. A few users have been kind enough to send us some VERY detailed network telemetry which has also suggested a few potential factors, but any networking analysis is going to take time to dig into the different network systems that are interacting with each other (the client, the server, Steam, Xbox Live, etc.).
The goal is (obviously) to have no one disconnecting from their matches, but there will always be external factors we cannot control: including hardware, software, and other variables.
All of that said, I’ve collected and passed along all the hardware information provided here, which is going to help our QA team test for specific hardware/cases. We are actively monitoring this situation and continue to treat it as the highest priority; as soon as we are confident in a fix, we (as much as anyone here) will be immensely happy to have it implemented and off our chests!
Thanks again to everyone who has continued to weigh in with solutions and information; keep it coming!
The fault is on our hardware? Are you kidding me?
So how could I play without any issues prior to the 27th february patch using the EXACT SAME hardware setup? No offense, but your response makes no sense at all.
I give up, seriously.
same error . i try everything . still 5 min play and disconnet
While I will not 100% outright deny that the fault might occour on my own hardware, I have to admit I find it very wierd that it ONLY happens during the 5-7 minute range. There is some code thats excuted during this timeframe that does it.
While it might be true that some hardware might be better at handling this unknown process that makes many peoples network cards break their necks here, I would rather point the fingers at the code, considering that I have no disconnect issues with any other game. By that I mean: If it would happen that I do have the occasional packet loss or NIC overload, no other game that I am playing isn’t able to handle it. I will repeat myself here once more, this is clearly something that the games code is doing, and it is doing it repeatedly at the 5-7 minute mark.
OK I only bought a second license so me and my son could multiplayer, so now I want my money back. We played twice, it crashed twice, first time we made it through the lobby, readied up, then on opening screen of game with villagers around town hall it froze, on second try we got about 10 minutes into game then total crash, both PCs shut the game down and exited to windows. We have no problem playing other games across our home network like Fortnite (PC and Xbox cross-platform) and Minecraft. We are in UK, have a very fast BT broadband connection, play quite a lot of games, and this (AOEDE) is the ONLY one we ever had a problem with.
So I’ve been sitting here waiting for a fix since the release of this game. Blaming it on hardware is very poor. It is obviously your coding. I have no problems with WoW, FFXIV, D3, a whole pile of other games on Steam, anything with multi-player I have NO PROBLEMS. It’s not hard to figure out what the problem is here.
At this rate I want a refund, but I can’t get one, because I played single player games to learn things while waiting on this fix but this is ridiculous at this point. You cashed in on anyone who was a fan of this game in it’s original release like I was hopping back into the game. False advertisement. I am glad I bought a multi-player game to not be able to multi-player because some devs can’t fix their coding issues on their end. Absolutely ridiculous at this point. Embarrassing even.
Yea, this is getting a bit ridiculous… I brought this game to play against some mates, purely for multiplayer. Disconnect every 5 minutes though, so multiplayer is completely unplayable.
I’ve open the necessary ports, disabled / closed down my VPN, shut down other programs, updated a bunch of driver and software, and even brought a 20m ethernet cable and drilled holes in my floor to run it under the house to plug my desktop directly in and improve my connection speed… First time booting up multiplayer after that and whaaaaam straight disconnect after 5 minutes. None of the other 4-5 guys I play with have any issues either! WTF
Today I have the first crash in multiplayer. And its continues for multiple matches… Haven’t finished any game since.
Nothing change from my side - same computer, same network and network condition. Looks like some server issue?
