To me, the only real option for an Armenian campaign is Ashot the Great. He’s the one who got them their independence to begin with.

Michael the Brave has an awesome history, but part of it occurs after 1599 and that’s a little after the timeline

Adding to the idea

Rename the Slavs to Rus make the boyar a knight replacement for rus liths romanians and bulgars.Rus uu can be a cossack or something else.

The Vlachs video:

  1. Unique unit is just urumi swordsman that has traded charge attack to extra armor
  2. Functionally terrible unique tech. For some reason time and again people keep assuming castles come for free. If you modify the build in a boom map to produce a castle that doesn’t have any high dps ranged unique unit, you’re already quite behind. Then you have to invest another 500 resources to get the unique tech. By then an opponent who is just booming with minimal investment will be dozens of vills ahead. And if its a limited space map, you’d need those resources to go imp soon. In a regular open map game, where both you and opponent went for 2 or 3 tc + army, you’d build the castle around 30th minute and then get this tech most probably after clicking imperial age. Its going to benefit only the last 20 or 30 vills you produce. It is a great tech for late game for recovering from raids but is no way applicable for booming.
  3. Second unique tech: +2 p.armor is so much more valuable than +1 attack and 10% cost. Its not a useful unique tech when the civ doesn’t have last cav armor. What you could do instead is give them plate barding, extra cavalry class armor sufficient enough to take 1 extra hit from halbs and camels or -3 damage from ranged foot units. Or something else not cavalry related if plate barding must not exist for some reason.
  4. Great way of providing eco bonus paired with eco upgrades. Early heavy plow will be even more rewarding.
  5. Skirmishers extra attack is a solid bonus to pair with cavalry because it can kill pikes but Lithuanian skirms offer mobility advantage till imperial age. They can chase down spear-line units and other civ’s ranged units and kill them, run back faster from enemy cavalry. So its a different kind of benefit. Nevertheless this bonus is good for a knight civ.
  6. Dude, devs have stolen your idea already, sue them 11
  7. A very close duplicate to Hindustani bonus, just knights instead of camels but ok nothing to complain.

Mostly a good tech tree balance except for blacksmith. You don’t have good ranged units and skirms get a lot of extra attack. It would be much more balanced to get rid of bracer and have either plate barding or plate mail armor instead. If you give them plate mail armor, they’ll be a great closed map civ with good siege, monks, gunpowder, skirms and halbs. If you give them plate barding and no bracer, they could be a good open map civ with good paladin, fully upgradable hussar, good anti-infantry skirms.

Armenians:

  1. Are the azat or naxarar units convertable? If they are, this bonus is terrible. If not, its useful.
  2. The bonuses seem to overlap a lot with Sicilians and doesn’t even come for free. Treadmill crane is quite mediocre outside death match and a very marginal bonus. Overall its going to be a poor eco civ relying too much on their 8th, 25th azat and naxarar knights.
  3. TC bonus is decent for early game against drush and archer rushes but nothing major.

Is this not a repost of the same threads in the past who post the same civ theorycrafted youtube videos all the time, like some pseudo-advertisement to the creator’s videos?

I feel like I’ve read this for the 7th time. Even the censored ########### part. 11

Can we not encourage civ “design” like from a guy who thinks increasing farm food count is a good reason a civ could have a farming speed penalty or a “bonus” where your units hurt themselves or considers scouts at the TC a good bonus because you can do all in strat!?

Also if you want to be taken seriously as a civ designer yourself… post your own Civ threads. Go on

The more I hear about this guy, the less I’m concerned that he’s going to somehow step on my area of expertise.

Well, turns out 2/3 were implemented with The Mountain Royals.

Everything except the Romanians

Romanians are not Caucasus if im not mistaken.

Still hoping this would happen.
