He may very well be said persons; but the statement in the OP is counterintuitive.
It’s like I"m selling you a house; you love the house and love the price for the house…then right before we strike the deal I inform you, “by the way! this house comes with a ##### ## #### shed in the backyard!”
Then you decide:
“nope nope, I loved the house and the price, but if it comes with this dusty shed I’m no longer interested!”
Even though you can quite literally DISREGARD THE SHED?? (don’t play the variants???)
someone failed at reading comprehension, keep the byz and ##### keep the campaign, maps etc. take out the variants and make a 3rd full civ in its place
Again, why remove 6 NEW civs to get less content? You can choose not to play as the variant civs, but why remove them for the rest of us that want them?
slightly weird analogy, a closer one would be you bought a house then got informed there’s gonna be headaches with lets say heating setup leaking the water into the walls and floors, otherwise i see what you mean
naw your analogy is bad. Because what you just defected ACTUALLY impacts the integrity of the house you’re buying!! The Shed in my analogy has no barring on the quality of the house! And likewise how GOOD or BAD the variants turn out to be have ZERROOOOOO IMPACT on the 2 civs we’re getting; AAGAIN ZERROOO!!!
Can you read? Why remove the variants and replace it with less content? Removing the variant civs is LESS content regardless if they add one more new civ.
still impressed you keep calling them as full civs, its a very blantanly basic principle called QUALITY over QUANTITY, i rather have a bit less higher QUALITY content over more but lower QUALITY content, and yes, variants are the lower quality compared to having a new original civ
How do you know that the variant civs are “less” quality? As far as I’ve heard by people who have actually played with them, they are different enough to be called their own civ.
I disagree that she was. I agree she got possibly the most pushback, but a lot of that wasn’t and still isn’t because of her name. Some of it is. But nearly all of the criticism of the Empire of Jade was the name (by comparison).
The tidbits they have offered thru screenshots and quick tooltip tutorials have been woefully underwhelming with the exception of Ayyubids. I also like the details regarding Xi’s Legacy, but I’m extra salty because I wish all these “variant additions” were native to China 1.
Empire of Jade was just a bad name, it sounded more fantasy than anything else. I’m okay with Zhu Xi’s Legacy it’s not great but it make sense for what the civ is.
Since when you’re buying a house you’re technically purchasing the plot of land and everything on it; we’ll make the plot of land analogous to the Age of Empires Expansion and on said “expansion” is the house (the new civs you like) and this dusty shed( “stupid” variants). BUT STILL, because buddy would have already purchase the “expansion” had it JUST have a good house on the plot; it’s weird that he retracted on the deal because he so hates the shed on said “expansion”. He only needs BUY the expansion THEN get rid of the shed (the variants) himself!!
is it really? You’re here just like us for the humorous content these nonsensical threads generate. I mean all these threads say the exact same thing, likewise the replies for and against.
It’s something to do for the next 14 days until we can play the game and still mald at the same time.
I was thinking something like you want to buy an exquisitely crafted couch you really like, but you also have to take an old ugly chair you have no need for and en up turning down the whole offer, including the couch you wanted.
Feeling sad yet? You shouldn’t anyway, it isn’t worth it.
They are giving you TWO exquisitely crafted couches (new civs) AND extravagant coffee table (campaign) AND a lush high thread count rug (new maps) BUT also… 4 rickety chairs that MIGHT hold up? (4 variants); ALL for the price of the 2 couches? And you say NO DEAL?!
EDIT:
Buddy doesnt MERELY SAY “NO DEAL”. He actually said BAD DEAL AND EVERYONE SHOULD JOIN HIM IN HIS BOYCOTT FOR THIS LAZY CONTENT. How dare they give us package consisting of high quality content mixed with less than optimum content and only charge us effectively for the cost of the quality stuff?
But you don’t get to demand they take that pizza off of the menu. Or berate other customers for “supporting lazy work” or however the beetroot analogy works there.
