Egyptians- Pharaoh does not spawn until 1.5min into a multiplayer match_Resource upgrades from T1 and T2 do not appear

Issue:

All Egyptian factions: The pharaoh does not spawn right off of the bat. Have to wait 1.5min into the match before he spawns in multiplayer. No mods are installed either

Set’s main ability is free every time you use it right from the beginning.

In addition, all resource research does not appear whatsoever (any resource upgrades).

None of these issues occur in skirmish (limited to MP only)

Trigger Event:

Just starting a standard match

Repro Steps:

  1. Load into the beginning of the match

Fixed the issue. The issue is with corrupted files.

To fix the issue, turn off cloud sync and uninstall the game. Reinstall the game with the cloud sync turned off.
After this, go into the Local C drive, find user, open the username’s file, open games, find Age of Mythology. There should be a file with a bunch of numbers. Open this folder. Find a file named UserProfile, and delete this file.

Then reopen the game.

Been having this issue since two weeks. I tried your solution but it worked only once. It seems that every civ and god is affected by this at first age.

I stated that all of the resource upgrades were gone for every civ (it is presumed these upgrades are automatically researched at the beginning due to Set’s eye ability casting is free).

If you turned on cloud sync after the installation, you will continuously have this issue since the integrity of the files stored on the Steam cloud are corrupted (I have yet to find a way to override the files stored on the steam cloud) .

You have to delete the game entirely, and delete that Userprofile file after the re-instillation in order for it to work (the Userprofile file is NOT deleted after the game is uninstalled). I have yet to have this same issue and it’s been about a week now. Both my brother and I have NOT turned on cloud sync to date either and we’ve experienced no issues.

Cloud sync needs remain off.

ATM cloud sync seems to store corrupted file versions of the game.

Yes, I did it again leaving cloud sync off and it worked. Thanks!
Also Thor AI is seriously affected by this bug: for some reasons it can’t go beyond age II.

Glad that fixed your issue! Hope you enjoy playing the game normally now (it’s a dramatic difference)! When I played against Thor’s AI, I didn’t have an issue with them aging up past the 2nd age, nor issues when I played as Thor didn’t I have that issue. It is very possible that other people will experience this (just like you did)!

Sadly this bug reappears when you get a sync error in multiplayer, even if steam cloud is off. You have to redo the procedure to fix it again
I hope devs fix this soon because it’s so annoying

Hello,
yeh, it happening to me too I am Xbox platform user, and the problem happen to me too on 1:30 minute Pharaoh is spawning. it needs to be fixed…

It is making it harder for Egyptian pantheon players to play. Also, the bug researched the tech of the economical of Husbandry, Plow, Hand Axe, Pickaxe.
And 2 techs of the Temple, Hands of the Pharaoh, and Clairvoyance researched this bug is frustrating…
I love playing Set, at start I thought it was one time bug, I tried the fix, but it did not help me, I don’t know how to stop the game form synching because its deferent form steam.

Need help too if someone care to help.
Or I will wait for the game managers and devs for a fix.

For xbox I have absolutely no clue what to do for that other than uninstall and reinstall.

My thought is for the sync error, just delete the Userprofile file and reboot the game and see if that doesn’t fix it.

yeh it isn’t the same. I don’t see how I open the game without sync the game to the cloud.

This fix is for PC. Xbox I do not know nor have a way to even begin to find a fix for Xbox, or determine whether cloud sync even exists. My presumption is no since steam is specific to PC.

For Xbox, the only way to fix it is uninstall and reinstall to see if that helps.

Fix for Xbox

  1. In the Xbox Home menu, while hovering over Age of Mythology press start button (3 horizontal lines)
  2. Select ‘Manage game and add-ons’
  3. Select ‘Saved data’
  4. Select ‘Reserved Space’ then ‘Clear Reserved Space’
  5. Select your profile data (the option above ‘Reserved Space’ - should appear as your gamertag) then ‘Delete Everywhere’
  6. Start the game, it will go through the setup as if you’ve never installed it before but when you play the problem is fixed.

WARNING: this will delete all your saved data.
Probably it’s the same issue of file corruption over time as with PC, so it seems likely the problem can recur.

The following did NOT fix the bug for me:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling
  • Only deleting profile data from console
  • Only deleting profile everywhere
  • Only clearing reserved space

NOTE: the Pharaoh problem occurs for all Egyptian players in the lobby when a player with this bug is hosting, and economic techs being already researched also seems to apply to all players.
Problem persisted after latest patch (until I found this fix)

Nice!! There was no physical way I could find a fix for this due to not owning it on Xbox! Yes, the problem will persist if one other player (the host) has this bug.

To fully eliminate the problem, you have to remove all files tied to the bug (this was my presumption) which would include profile data, saved data, whichever reserved space is, and delete all data pertaining to the game.

What baffles me, is that this problem is 3 months old+ and nothing has been done about it other than delete everything and start over…
