It already has the translated version in hawkaoe ,you can go there to download it,thanks.—from the chinese translator.
Thank you,cly0806.I had seen your translated version on the website a few days ago.You marked the Constantinople gates with historical names.I think this is very good.
But as a Taiwanese,I tend to use Traditional Chinese , but that doesn’t mean I can’t read simplified, I just want to share what I like with friends and players who use the same language .
It’s not about politics, It’s some differet between Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese, just like European Spanish and Latin American Spanish.
Thank you for answering me. PhillySouljah.
In translating the text, I found out that “Mayor-General of Galata”, and that Mayor-General should not be a modern military rank, “Major General”? Since Galata is part of the Genoese colonies
, may this position be similar to that of the Governor?
That is correct. Mayor-General is closer to Governor than Major General. In English, a mayor governs a city.
This would be an very interesting scenario.Aztecs fighting Turks.
What is the next? Looking forward to it !!
Something on the Tang Dynasty of China I hope!
These are so awesome!
I’m curious, as an aspiring scenario designer, how to I implement the “briefings” into the campaigns?
It would be great to have something related to China. Another question, does the Chinese castle in AOE II DE looks really Chinese? Somehow, for me, it lokks more Japanese.
Yes unfortunately the developers of the game made the Chinese/Koreans/Mongols based on Japanese buildings. I am amongst others who are trying to persuade them to introduce a Chinese or Mongol Building set. I am also modding the game to introduce AOE1DE buildings to AOE2DE which look like proper Chinese buildings. The only problem is that the Castle does not have an equivalent unit in AOE1DE. Hopefully we will see new buildings.
Looking forward to it!
Just finished the Last Romans with Constantine XI being the sole unit surviving on land. Actually I went AFK for the last 5 minutes
In one earlier attempt I killed Sultan Mehmed, which surely seems nothing to the Ottomans. I guess some micro nerd could wipe out the Ottomans’ base with the initial army and build walls to block all the enemy spawn spots?
One bug for the intro: when you click previous/next slide, the narrator’s voice won’t sync, but continue.
Thanks for the epic work!
A bug in Finehair: the eagle (map revealer) would stop at some point. Could be a DE pathing issue. Sacrificing a 600G villager for this feels bad.
The Pecheneg invasion in Komnenos is not a good design. As a person who seldom saves during a game, such a huge army is just ridiculous. Considering how long the game has been going till this point, my first attempt feels a totally ruined experience. In my second attempt I dealt with it easily with 8 mangonels.
Yes you are given time to prepare, but the Pechenegs’ unit combo and amount is not known. And the plot is not linear so that you would be expected to already have a decent army.
(I might be wrong. Maybe most custom campaigns require saving and loading. But I did all the official campaigns without saving.)
Another weird design is that legionaries and cataphracts get strengthened from time to time. But the majority of our enemy are not infantry. When would they be picked over berserks?
Hi.
I played your scenarios and i have some ideas about some of them which may be useful for you. helping one of the best Aoe scenario editors is a proud for me definitely.
First many thanks to you all of your scenarios.
for Seljuk campaign:
Thanks for many historical events you put in this scenario and nice map design (like your other scenarios) there is a problem with yurts and creating units in them:
we can train some units in the yurts but when we upgrade them they become unavailable. for example elite cav. archer cannot be trained in the yurts.
another major problem which is important for your next scenarios is when i research marauders technology in the great tent. tarkans will become available in stable but in the place of steppe lancers so we cannot train steppe lancers anymore.
I’m not sure but maybe its aoe problem and there is not fix for it.
Thanks and we are eager for your next scenarios. good luck.
I noticed same issues. I mentioned a similar issue earlier and the author wasn’t able to resolve it.
A workaround for training steppe lancer is to use the hotkey (default to R). And you could train tarkans by clicking.
Khmer Kings of Old Cambodia. The beautiful intro got me instantly hyped. And then… a very underwhelming game.
It’s either a struggle to survive under constant pressures with lack of mines, or a cheesy win if you turtle at the island at the bottom.
The king, when most needed (which is the start), is a super pleb, slow and fragile. When he became a fancy chariot or whatever, who even cares? He has to be alive and will stay in his cozy ocean-view castle forever.
The grey player (I don’t even remember its name) always get destroyed in no time. Yellow and teal always prevail. Well… in an FFA-ish setting, such a predictable path feels boring.
Not to mention the various tasks. I noticed purple several times. But what’s the plot if I get there? I have no idea because I have to cross a channel between yellow and teal’s castles, towers, harbors and fleet… By the time I could steamroll through them, why would I even care about purple? Beating everyone to open a trade route? 11
Anyway, I appreciate the slideshows.
