Game disconnects/reconnects repeatedly, then crashes. This is the exact same issue as the thread here: Game says I lost my connection and won't reconnect, until it eventually crashes. I am starting a new thread, as that previous one has been closed with an admonition not to “necro” new topics.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:
The linked bug report that this is a duplicate of provides excellent steps to reproduce and a video of it happening.

  1. Start a multiplayer (non-LAN) game
  2. Wait
  3. Observe repeated disconnection/reconnection followed by crash.

:point_down: What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
Not disconnect or crash. If disconnection occurs, reconnect rather than crashing.

:point_down: ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.
I unfortunately do not have picture of this as the game crashes. The linked issue that this one is a duplicate of has an excellent video of the issue occurring. It looks exactly like that.

I unfortunately do not have a save of this as the game crashes. The linked issue that this one is a duplicate of has an excellent video of the issue occurring. It looks exactly like that.

GAME PLATFORM: Steam
OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 11
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
GPU: EVGA 3080 FT3

I’ve been having the same issue with my friends while playing online matches for approximately 1 week.
The only fix that that seems to work is restarting the game after every match or every second match.

Update: once this issue starts happening, it appears to occur in 100% of games until it stops. This is unfortunate, as it means that there is no workaround available for a number of days.

I have been able to rule out the following causes:

  • Being the host of a game (the issue occurs both as a participant and as the host of a game)
  • Ludicrous zoom enabled (the issue occurs both with and without this option enabled)
  • Network issues (someone on the same network as me did not experience the same issue)
