Game do not open

Bought and installed the game about 4 days ago. Played a few times (with graphic deficiences, yes, but played, the letters were just transparent, not much of a problem), but after the last update i just can’t open the game anymore. There are 3 messages that show up:

1 - the first says that i may have poor gaming experience for my video adapter doesn’t reach minimum requirementes (wich it does).
2 - the second says i may have a poor gaming experience because they’ve detected i’m using the software WARP driver.

The graphic deficiencies you experienced were caused by the lack of DirectX 11 support by the 9600 GT. Probably the developers have decided to raise the minimum requirements and build in more checks in the game for that, while they actually should have added this kind of detection mechanics into the store before able to buy it. I advice you to look for a GeForce 700 series graphics card, you can get them very cheap second hand these days.

Chez, go ahead and give it a try. Ask for a refund via the Microsoft online support (wait in an online queue)

Expect to take 30 to 60 minutes.

Be polite.

Explain that the Microsoft software does not work and that you’ve uninstalled the product.

Let us know what your experience was like.

I installed on my surface pro, starting the game results in failure msg DirectX 11 not updated. Checked DirectX 12 is installed

Ran windows update, all up-to-date

Checked online for support…

And what now???

direct play is now enabled.
Win10 ver 1709

Same error msg
Reboot also did not help

Can you run dxdiag.exe save result and post it here?

I got the game working now, but it took them like a week to fix it. I was seriously considering a refund because as much as I love Age Of Empires, I didn’t want to give no money for nothing. But like I said I can play now, so no problem.

Look fine, except I notice some Windows Update errors. You are running 10.0.16299.248 at the moment, latest build is 251, so check updates again, also check advanced settings.

If you have a Surface with 4K/UHD screen and only 4 GB internal memory you will not be able to run it in 4K/UHD. Upgrade to 16 GB at least or lower the resolution before starting the game. Could you try this?

Welcome to the club of buyers than can’t play AT ALL. It’s fun you chat with other people at support forum inestead of playing the game you paid for.

Same issue here… ( germany)…it worked for 2 days and then it wont start… installed it again…worked for a day…

Mine works just fine

I am on a Mac

Disabling F-Secure solved the problem of launching the game for me…

Still no fix after pressing PLAY…
What is the chance for the next update?

I have been delaying buying the game after all the bad reviews, but finally gave in… downloaded fine, opened the game fine, all menus are clickable and responsive. The moment I click on Play i get kicked out immediately and nothing of all the TS steps offered here and online did not solve the problem for me…

I cannot even get a refund…
