Game do not open

This issue is related to a dcom error in my case the only way i found to resolve it was downloadding ccleaner and cleaning the registry now is working fine but if some of you gonna do it backup first.

Won’t allow me to sign in. I get to the sign in screen and click “sign in” and it just won’t allow me to, no matter how many times I click it.

I cant launch the game for a diff reason. I get to the main menu and there is a popup that says I need to sign in to continue. Clicking ‘sign in’ does nothing and clicking ‘exit’ just shuts down the game

In my case. The game’s intro plays well but When i choose single player or campaign AND PRESS START the game close at all and in the screen apears the Microsodt store and the windows interface.
Anyone have the same problem?

same problem here, reinstall does not help, and everything what is listed on the support page either…

i need to say that i could not run the closed beta too. It crashed on startup, now i see the menu … “yeah” … -.-

Have talked with Microsoft support for 4 hours today and ending upp with talking with one of the main managers of the support they have now escalate this to XBOX Rangers and to the Developers and i will get an update about the issue within 24 hours.

Cheers

“You need to sign in to contine” has anyone with this problem been able to fix it??

okk … the support team answer to me on facebook that they work on a solution

Personally I can start the game but I can’t play Multiplayer.“No Xbox Live service connection” error message, and yet I am logged in to Xbox Live.

Please let us know if any development.

DO NOT WASTE your DATA by reinstalling. This is not working.

Haven’t been able to play game, screen closes and goes to Store screen, but have been promoted to “Scout Cavalry”, interesting.

Everything worked 12 hours ago…Now the game wont start.

After few tries of download… the download finaly started and this morning the game worked and i played some singleplayer matches and the tutorial campaign.
The bug solved himself.
Sorry for my English
Its good game.

I tried everything mentioned in this forum. Will try redownloading it for a third time and see if it will work on my C drive (initally have it on D Drive) unless it’s my system running Win 10 Insider Pro Build 17101.

I find this incredibly frustrating as when you buy a game, you expect it to work straight of the box wouldn’t you!

Continue NOT open here. Open and with ±5 seconds close.

Mine only works after i disable my anti virus software completly

I tried to run it today. Nothing.
Then I disabled Trend-Micro Internet Security and it worked!

FIXED IT! see if you have the same luck.

I use Trend Micro Internet Security. Because Microsoft has “security” on the WindowsApps folder AND the AoEDE.exe file the firewall can’t access them to make an exception, nor can you manually select the file to make an exception.

SO, firstly you need to be the system administrator. Then you change “ownership” of the WindowsApps folder and give yourself ownership and full permissions. That lets you get through to you AoEDE directory. Once you get there, you need to do the same again to the AoEDE.exe file. THEN you can navigate and select the exe file to make an exception in your internet security program.

Hope this helps.

Big thanks to Ryan from Forgotten Empires for the back an forth and helping to eliminate some issues.

Well that is all great and dandy that you’re having positive results with Trend Micro. Except majority of the people are simply using Windows build in Defender.

There is way too much noise and random suggestions in this thread. Suggestions such as “update your gpu drivers” are void as they are baseless as most people keep their system up-to-date.

During the closed beta, this problem had been occurring randomly for random people. Aside from wild shots at attempting things, there wasn’t a clear single solution for it.

FYI, the game doesn’t run on my end. Crashes right after the splash. If I hit ESC rapidly (which they didn’t seem to fix yet), I can briefly see the main menu flash before crashing. Meaning the issue yet again is with the start up of this game.

It really baffles me that almost any game I own works perfectly fine, whether it is old or new but somehow this specific game has major trouble launching. I find it really really poor and no excuse justifies.

This fixed the issue for me, cheers to you and Ryan for this solution.

Great to finally play this game (The Beta didn’t work for me).
