Huskarls are more versatile than how they look and you dont need versatility when you have units that do their job well enough

Their infantry doesnt need a buff and its better than FU cavalier 99% of the time

And I argue that they do need the cavalry buff - as for huskarls, they are perfect as they are - but no, they do not counter mobile archers well.

what i want would never happen - goths should be reworked from the ground up.

Even if it may not, how would you do it?

i’d rework them into a cavalry civ, seeing as the goths were not an infantry civ.

What about removing their barracks speed bonus/giving the last stable armor/giving palladin/keeping huskarl/keep their lack of the last infantry armor upgrade/ switch out the unique techs for cavalry related techs, change team bonus to something else, change the cost reduction towards cavalry in a balanced way and perhaps giving a second unique unit created in the stable- Mounted Huskarl (or another type of unique cavalry)

goths aren’t very good at high levels at all. the problem is their flood (if they can get to it), isn’t something your average or below average player can deal with. but at the top end they are arguably one of the worst civs in the game.

they are basically the opposite of the Chinese.

Goths have 51% in 1650+ ELO and I see them being picked in tournaments frequently too, if they will buff them then both of their UTs need a nerf because they are OP with their broken flood.

this was a tournament where they were forced to be used and in the QF onward they lost every single time.

so again. please tell me where this “Frequently picked in tournaments” is.

This doesn’t mean they are not picked, and as I said they have 51% winrate in +1650Elo so the if they want to buff them then they should nerf both of their UTs. Goths with their Huskarl in barracks alone is a big problem because they ez raid under TCs and castles without any problem with their broken pierce armor, and in imp with their 100% UT it is gg regardless their cheap militia line bonus and their bonus vs buildings.

You made the claim. Show me where all this tournament usage of goths is.

Fact is the civ isn’t that good. Huskarls are easily wrecked by pretty much any melee unit, and their champs lack the final armor upgrade, meaning they lose to just about anything.

Again if they are as good as you say show me all this tourney play

Well in KOTD3 in first round of the tournament Goths were picked 5 times, and I don’t remember other tournaments names but I see them frequently in the draft of many tournaments and the pros some times even ban them. In general the post suggest a buff for them but they have 51% in +1650 Elo, so why they need a buff?! And as I said if people want to buff them then they should get a nerf for both of their UTs at least.

They get banned by people choosing mayans. Because that’s what goths is good at. Hard countering mayans.
And kotd3 was a team game tournament. So of course it’s going to see more use.

I just showed you a bunch of recent events and the only one they saw extended use in was the one where half your civs are chosen by your opponents.

And winrates aren’t the end all be all. Winrates say Chinese are worse then goths but pros consider them one of if not the best civs in the game.

Winrates have lithuanians at 48% at the highest level but they are also insanely strong.

And overall winrates aren’t reliable at all because they literally include low skill players

True my bad. Still how much goths use do you see in the quarter finals on? I see once. And they lost.

Goths aren’t a good civ. Overall winrates are a terrible benchmark that include people who can’t even play well and archer civs numbers are lower because of it and less micro civs are inflated

The problem with Goths is this civ feel like a toxic civ more than being a normal one, their UTs and their UU and their early bonuse all of these things feel like a bad design, so the most important thing that if they want to buff them both of their UTs need a change or big nerf. Burgundians now are more toxic than them with its Fmilita and broken eco.

Goths need a nerf for their imperial late game not a buff.

Unless you have a superior civ and units, beating their post imperial fast production and cheap units is something not doable for most civs in equal levels.

Perfusion needs a nerf, to maybe 60% faster creation instead of 100%, if you nerf that then you can give them the last cavalry armor in order to make the civ more versatile rather than just a narrowed strats.
