Guys, let's vote for DLC civ you want

The northern Netherlands (the dutch republic) left the empire before that, it become spanish territory in 1555 when Charles V abdicated. In 1588 the Dutch revolt/eighty years war started, it was at this point that it became its own state.
The Southern or Austrain Netherlands would eventually become what is now known as Belgium, but that I’d argue is beyond the game’s time period.

Zweihanders, War Wagons, and most of the cards in the Germans civ.

Last thing we need is to add a nw civ by splitting up the Germans into Austrians or Prussians. They are better as an umbrella civ because they weren’t really that important during the colonisation of the Americas/Asia.

Do you all think the devs will ever respond in regards to DLC? I would fork over $ in a heartbeat for a new expansion.

new patch note does hint at DLC:

Where do we go from here? Well, we’ve got some really exciting stuff happening behind-the-scenes that we can’t wait to share with you

that to me indicates they are working on DLC, unlikely they would tease more customization options.

I missed this, good catch! This definitely gives me hope.

Among the new icons, you can see 3-4 African-looking ones and added icons for the Da Gamma Expedition - one is a Somali warrior, the other is an Ethiopian woman.

Most likely this means they can announce the African DLC soon - just like I thought.

The icon I marked on the screenshot is not able to identify it (maybe it’s a brand new civ unit not shown in Historical Battles).

I think Historical Battles is worth suggesting as this is a surprise egg - it can show us future new civs.

Berbers, Ethiopians, Somalis - who else can appear in the African DLC?

Tatars also don’t have to be a stupid idea. They can be part of the Asian DLC and appear alongside Persians, for example.

I hope what I wrote turns out to be true. It would also be nice to see the new European and American civs. Central European Empires and underrepresented South American natives - there was no South American playable civ before the Incas.

Brooo i exactly noticed that part like you

Kingdom of Kongo? was active in the era and are also represented in civ 6.

Isn’t that the “knife thrower” from the Da Gama campaign?

I’m still optimistic though.

that was toyotomi hideyoshi… whom tokugawa ieyasu HATED and destoryed his family once he came into power. He had to OBEY Hideyoshi while he was in power but once he was dead he set out to destory him and anything related to him- which is why Edo Japan became Isolationist.

I hope Korea makes it as DLC…

Korea is weak in AOE 3 DE era . They can add other asian civs instead of korea.

no they weren’t. They were strong in Aoe3 era… they became weak during Wars of Liberty mod era but not in Aoe3 era. Sure they were not strong like China but they were stronger than Japan. ( yes I am well aware of imjin war but that was because Korea wasn’t really ready for the war and spent its time arguing amongst themselves… once they got their act togather Korea manged to kick Japan out by themselves- see admiral Yin.)

Maybe with Persia but not Siam.

No, Siam was way bigger of a power in this timeframe, than Korea was.
Siam was actually so strong, it could repel european powers, while Korea could not.

“The maximum zone of influence of Rattanakosin included the vassal states of Cambodia, Laos, Shan States, and some Malay kingdoms.”

Meaning it was a Colonial Empire in it’s own right.

you do realise Siam had to give up its lands to satisfy European powers right?
And Korea DID repel European powers… it was just that during end times Josen just could not adopt to changing times in industrial revolutions ( and even than that got nothing to do with period of AOE3 DE as it includes time period of Meiji restoration. Are you saying Meiji restoration is included in Aoe3?

Yes, and so is Hedeyoshi’s reign before Tokugawa.
Same as France having the Colonial portion represented in the game, even though the leader is Napoleon, and Germans representing Austrians too, even though the leader and 2 units are Prussian.

Why is Capital city called Edo? I am sure it was called only that during Edo period. In Meji they renamed it into Tokyo. ( which teams of Wars of Liberty took notice and changed it for their mod)
