How to execute a Cuman ram rush?

Is there a build order for a Cuman ram rush? By the time I reach Feudal, and got a blacksmith, barracks, and siege workshop up, my wood inventory is badly drained…

Yeah. Take vills off food and put them on wood on your way up to Feudal age. You can’t just do rams though. You need to back them up with units or they will just die to villagers, especially after the new patch update when villagers will get a +3 attack bonus against rams. Cumans get cheap archery ranges and stables so that would be a good place to start.

I made an Arena BO for a Cuman Ram Trush into Boom:

It’s an advanced BO, you have to start pushing your deer early otherwise you won’t have enough food to click up immediately, after garrisoning your vills at the end of loom.

As you will see, it puts nothing less than 6 on Wood initially + 3 more after clicking up to feudal. So no wonder your initial attempt didn’t had enough wood. Even this buildorder will only allow you to make like 3 rams or so.

The idea of the build is to distract the opponent so much that he can’t really threaten your cuman boom. But you need to be very careful with your forward vills and rams.

Feudal Rams are not only expensive for that stage but also take a long time cause you need to make 2 buildings before you actually get them out. That’s why I combine it with a trush, as the trush hits already earlier and forces a reaction. Usually a reaction that actually plays into your cards with the ram followup.

Isnt the attack bonus locked behind sappers?

Yeah true, forgot about that. Wouldn’t available til Castle age

Wasn’t Sapper Imperial tech in the castle?
I only see that it add more damage to ram and change in cost, not change in age it could upgrade.
Or was I wrong?

Which map do you play ? More Arena or Arabia ?

There is not one BO to cover it all, and since Feudal rams arent popular, there ais a lot of theorycrafting to do.

On Arena I guess you should stay on 1 TC + 6 farms, so you can save wood for archers and rams.

On Arabia, I think you should open archers or scouts and only add rams later, like at minute 14 or 15. You probably need to put 2 more villagers on gold and 2 more on wood instead of making 4 farmers out of them. This will delay the castle age timimg, but the saved wood will allow you to push with rams.

Cuman ram rush is an inconsistent strat and not rly a thing. It might work sometimes on Arena but there isn’t rly a build order for it. In general, late Feudal age has no build orders and it’s always up to you to juggle eco and military and make appropriate decisions.
