Hey guys, so I wanted to replace some sounds in the game, but I’m not sure how to convert sound files to .wem files. Does anyone know of any tools/applications that can do this? Thanks for any and all help.
Wwise Audiokinetic
Thanks, I’ll check it out!
Ok so I got the Wwise program working great, but does anyone know how to find what each of the in-game sound files corresponds to? (Like for example, what is the mswing_flail1.wem sound correspond to in game?)
Best resource I’ve found is the spreadsheet linked under the ‘Sound Events and Audio Sources Table’ section here: Steam Community :: Guide :: Audio Modding Guide
Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for, but it’s all I’ve got. I’ve never seen a list of exactly which sound effects are linked to which units / events, but it may be out there somewhere.
Yes! This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the help!
Cool; happy to help. Let me know if you’re looking for playtesters for your game when the time comes.
I’ll definitely publish it when it’s done, I’m replacing a few of the in-game sounds with sounds from Minecraft to go with a texture pack I’ve created. I’ll probably leave a link to it in this thread as well once it’s finished.
Here’s the finished product:
Age of Empires - Mods - Minecraft Sounds
