How to solve a problem like the Three Kingdoms

Soon we’ll also be Star Wars haters, One Piece haters, Fortnite haters, NFL haters, Kardashian haters, etc etc. And the AOE2 will be the best ever. Buckle up

Except nobody ever proved the initial art was AI generated. Art being subjectively bad (and trust me I didn’t like most of it either) doesn’t mean it’s not human made. Besides, they hired a whole company, not one or two people (who would indeed not have enough time to fix that many portraits in so little time). If you could actually prove it’s AI generated I’d be shitting all over it as well.

Shills be like:

  • 3K with a similar review and player gain as TMR was a great success
  • TMR has mixed reviews due to high prices
  • However, 3K is also “a very good deal”

Well….

By the time you managed to whataboutism, the average increase bumped to over 1500. Not a huge deal, but these numbers are not doing what would support you.

I’m not sure why you’re being so defensive over this DLC.

If I and everyone else who is upset about this is wrong, then no changes happen. You can carry on about your day of enjoying the DLC, rather than being on here. And if we’re right, the devs will see that and things will play out.

This DLC and big company do not need you defending it. But for complaints to be made known, people do need to make noise.

Imagine if I was right and nobody said what I’m saying, three thousand players up and quit when three civs they paid for get moved out of the game, and then another ten thousand never buy another DLC again.

Proactively tapping down those I perceive would potentially harm one of my favorite pastimes with radical opinions is necessary. When that doesn’t happen, really bad decisions are made in really good games, and elsewhere.

You want to argue data? Fine

AOE2’s playerbase is now BELOW where it was pre-3K launch. In less than 2 weeks, not only has AOE2 lost all it’s temporary gains but people are now leaving the game. That’s damning.

Wow 60% is so high I’m impressed, obviously let’s ignore one of the three days that was below 50%.
They need to do better so they can recreate the 81% on May 13th.

Tomorrow it could anywhere, like 30% or 70%. None of these so called “3-day trend” mean anything.

You also conveniently ignore the past 3 days are weekend. The graph is cyclic and gets a bump every weekend that takes no genius to explain why. This weekend is already lower than last weekend.

People writing a textbook on how to mislead with stats could take some notes.

If you actually took the time to read those reviews, many positive reviews are not with flying colors while taking issues with the same as those raised by your so-called “vocal-minority”.

Really bad decisions already started when they package non-civs that don’t fit the base-game as base-game civs, the way they communicate about new content with the community since V&V. A good thing that can do that they have never done in the past is to revert the current bad decision and dissidents will go home.

Lmao. I didn’t know “trending 60% over 3 days” is something worth bragging. And the overall rating is still 53%. Nice try. Next level insecurity. Come back when it moves to 54% at least.

You kept accusing the common critique towards the DLC “superficial”, when all you care is gameplay. Fine, you can ignore immersion and play whatever civ that has fun gameplay even if it’s called Orcs. But you don’t have to defend the devs, when there are clearly better options that make everyone happy.

The devs are not looking at people defending the DLC and going “hmmm, this guy must be right”. There are of course people perfectly happy with what they have. That’s obvious.

But you’re not telling anyone what you like about the DLC. You’re telling people who are unhappy to shut up.

1: Not cool.

2: The devs are asking for feedback on what people do not like. Stop trying to stifle people’s opinions.

Also your data is hilariously flawed and missing important context like the existence of weekends always dramatically increasing player numbers.

You obviously don’t know what cherry-picking means. You conveniently cherry-pick the past 3 days. How about I say the past 5 days the rating has been trending below 50%? (38, 36, 62, 47, 65)? But wait, I think looking at the average of past 1 day is even better. It’s 65%.

Talking about cherry-pick your sample. I give a very hard pass on reading about averages from your how to mislead with stats 101.

Of course I read them. They weren’t. But they damaged the gaming experience enough to result in a downvote. Both positive and negative have seen issues with 3K design philosophy and that they don’t fit the base game.
Many positive reviewers would welcome 3K out of base game. And that doesn’t go both ways.

They can make a perfectly balanced civ called Flexed Pigeon and the gameplay can still be fine

In all seriousness, you all need to not get distracted and focus on the goal of the complaints, like what change are demanded, which was the initial discussion goal of the OP. If the dev insiders are reading them, make sure the demands are as clear as possible.

The user Woels is spreading misinformation.

This is the link to the reviews: https://steamdb.info/app/3080080/charts/

This is how the reviews look:

Over the past five days there have been:

13/5 9Positive and 9Negative
14/5 15 vs 6
15/5 6vs7
16/5 2vs8
17/5 17vs11
18/5 4vs8

Total, 53 positive and 49 negative. That’s a 52% positive score. Which is why the overall review score for the DLC remained at 53%.

The average review score is still 53%, even when rounded that’s closer to 50% and not 60%. That’s not a matter of opinion that’s just 3rd grade maths.

Please don’t argue in bad faith. It’s not flattering. This is you a few hours ago:

Stop pretending that you somehow you hold a higher moral ground. Your post was trolling and a provocation. Don’t complain when people call you out on it.

I literally used steamdb and provided a link.

You’re not here to discuss in a constructive manner. You’re here to ragebait. Please stop it.

Thanks.

Listen bro I’m not Reddit brained enough to go on these stupid arguments like yourself and use fancy words you probably don’t even understand to deflect any arguments against yourself.

I don’t even care about the 3K DLC itself, at this point I’m just here to watch people mald about this whole mess.
