I Really Hope This Game Replaces AOE2: It's Just Better

I remember hearing about AoEO when it came out and while I was intrigued about the game I just have never had any interest in playing against other people. Strictly a PvE player and always have been. Never played a multiplayer game in my 20+ years playing these games. Despite that, I’ve always felt like I’m missing out on my AoE fandom.

I deeply appreciate the passion of the playerbase and the work they put into it.

I think it did so poorly mainly because of its monetization model and the grinding/pay to win mechanics.

Project Celeste removes that nonsense and makes it playable.

I’ve played it before and after Celeste.

The civ designs are varied and interesting. Graphics are pure cartoon (not like how people claimed AoE4 had cartoon graphics, it’s style is ACTUALLY cartoony), so some people will hate that, but that’s not what kept me from playing it more. It was the UI/UX stuff that I personally found unbearable.

There are easy instructions online to get it running for anyone who wants to play it.

Microsoft is holding an Xbox showcase in ~1 month. Will be most likely focused on Starfield but who knows, maybe there’s also some news on Age:

I hope at the showcase we get to see something AOE on it

It’s a masterpiece… I consider it the second best AoE between AoE 3 and AoM from best to worst (and that AoM is a masterpiece too)…It took me 200 hours to get the Greeks up to level 40 just following the quest lines…

The best part of AoEO is that it keeps getting better. The more the other games improve, the more they start resembling AoEO.

The future of aoe lies in age of myth retold, a success there will lead to aom 2 and aoe 5. AOE 5 should NOT be done by relic.

Sure, that’s true…

Yes, we’ll see what’s up with Retold…

Do you think it’s all relic’s responsibility? Most of the core decisions I’m pretty sure were made by Microsoft.

Well, seeing how their own flagship Company of Heroes 3 failing at every corner, you can’t also blame us for seeing how incompetent Relic is and doubting their own capability for making the next AoE. Also, seeing how they added microtransactions to their own flagship that’s already on fire is just a beautiful coup de grace, the game is finished and I hope AoE 4 doesn’t follow this decision.

And that i wanted buy CoH3…they ruined everything…:sob:

I’m confused. Are Steam reviews an accurate source of player sentiment now?

If so, would you try screenshotting AoE IV’s?

No it’s fact that COH 3 has no players and it is brand new proves that it was failure.

only accurate for small playerbase fandom which coh 3 fits there

I’m asking the poster who linked the store page, thanks.

It seems that this latest patch for age IV is more of a Microsoft/ FE thing than from relic, coh3 right now has 2k less players than coh2… Relic is in a very dangerous spot, they will need to remaster dow1 at this point to recover.

You are welcome.

How does it seem that way?

The game is just beginning to balance, since it has very different factions. It has no replays, no ranked, and for some there are not enough maps, who should be ashamed are the games below the ladder

but when the game is complete, I will bring you the statistics and the good news, don’t worry

What age of mythology had to do with this? Steam AOM version is broken, multiplayer don’t even work…
Regarding COH fix, so people need to wait more that one year to actually play a complete game? Don’t you think this will cause a lot of player to just forget about the game?
