Idiotic maps week in team games?

Onagers eat army if you have more than a couple of them, that’s what I mean

I think the main argument here is to stray a bit away from total aggression and rather go will controlling aggression like. If you have onager before him you cut though but dont rush for their base but rather cease their terretory either in small parts or in an certain amount of pushes to seal the Deal

Michi is way too much, this kind of players should play the map that is called bamboo nothing.
I think Amazon Tunnel and Black Forest are better closed maps and you know that many people still think they are not open enough,

IMO, nomad is for noobs and pros, not midcore player that include most of us.
When I was a noob, nomad is indeed fun to me. I liked the feeling of unknown and exploration. Everybody makes mistakes and people can’t really convert luck into advantages. Nothing can really affect the result of the game.

I am not very pro so I can’t speak for pros. I assumed that they can overcome and adapt everything.

As a midcore player, I need to base at stone for castle drop or defensive castle. I need to base at gold for fireships so that I won’t lose my entire fishing ships. I also need to put down my TC early. I know it’s pretty much GG when I am forced to reboom because I know my opponents are not big noobs and I can expect what will come next. I can’t handle nomad at my skill level and I don’t think its fun to me anymore.

for 900 elo, you are right.

If you, inside a choke point or right in the exit of it, cant onager down your opponent’s army, that’s, again, your fault. If you are above an average player, you can still do it in open field. Im not sure if you are aware, but Michi has lots of wood for you to chop and neutral market for trade, so you can keep a nice army of (S)Onager pumping out.

Yeah, if you are controlling the aggression, and you know how to do some onagers shots, it doesnt really matter if your opponent “catch” your booming without having onager themselves because they are macroing their eco.

You can vote whatever you want. The outcome is decided by WHO you get to play against. You get a full team of four smurfs against four normal players you know the outcome has already been decided before the game started. Smurf teams always win, always stomp, always steamroll before 40 min. They always do the same. Ruin, spoil the game for normal people and tike pride in trashing the game with multiple lower elo profiles.

My guess is, if all this happens it’s because we like to stomp on regular normal players and we don’t respect them. And I’m sorry to tell you, it’s not the normal player problem, it’s the hypocrisy of allowing smurfing.

Truths hurt and dishonesty in ranked is the rule these days. Players who are there just to screw your game.

Im not that sure about “we” liking to stomp average players, but Im sure all your complains about that so far have been just fairy tales. And that you are drifting away from the topic discussion

i just humbly resign min 5. I dont want nomadic maps. I should be able to play the map i wish if i paid for the game which i did.

No one has forbidden you from playing the maps you want. Ask in some discord group, reddit etc for people in ELO XXXX-YYYYY and likes the map Z to play in lobby with you

There are two issues today on map rotations:

-Dev picks and votes always choose “regular” maps
Example: Even the new map from the last big patch was not ranked!

-The choices of the developers and the votes mainly lead to two styles of games / maps
Example: Currently 4 Closed Maps 3 Random/Nomads Maps 1 Water Map 1 50/50 Closed/Open Map 0 Hybrid Map

We always find ourselves in this problem where players who like the classic meta cannot play the game. It would be enough for the choices of the developers to adapt to the votes to regulate the quantity of closed/open/hybrid/random maps Instead to be done before the votes…

Then i quit right before the “best” mappool. Trash maps, civ pickers and lately a lot +500 elo dif enemies, game good, ranked system sucks.

You can just ban Michi like I did and whenever you have enough time you can unban it and play it. Too much complaining going on.

Ya I feel like there should be a different pool for each of the slots. So one slot contains maps like Nomad, Land Nomad, African clearing, one slot contains the awful maps like Michi, Amazon tunnel and one map contains some new unseen maps.
And for godsakes remove the default water maps, who plays them anyway. Before the stats sites went away, all water maps combined were like 0.8% of the total number of games played.

I also feel there needs to be more bans for TG because of such voting pool. Like 3 bans for 1v1 and 2 bans + number of people in the party for tg. This way we can ban all those maps and not worry about having to dodge michi or amazon tunnel or pacific islands.

More like people should be able to vote 3 maps from different categories instead of choosing all closed maps. And the options that they get to vote shouldn’t be no brainer maps like michi.

That’s usually fine when everyone goes random. Atleast you can do something like tower rush or something and heavily disturb one of your opponents and force another opponent to spend time on you. But when everyone picks Malians, Spanish and so on, it becomes impossible.

You cant outboom any of your opponents of the same skill level who are also going to pick civs. Atleast in BF, you have possibilities of early sneak, villager rush, saracen xbow play, monk-mangonel play, castle drop etc. Nothing in michi. And its not a style, its just plain boom, boom and boom till post imp. Even forest nothing is enjoyed by a lot of players, doesn’t mean it has to be in ranked.

Your opponent is also going to have Celts siege onager, Bohemian/Turk canons and so on. Its more or less a stale mate situation that goes on for very long time. So its not like you have onagers and you’re unable to target fire in choke point. Both you and you’re opponent are stuck on either sides of choke points.
