Im so tired of people in team games

I’m very surprised that you encounter so many unprovoked abandons. In 99% of my games, people only leave when they lose. By that I mean the enemy has destroyed all the buildings up to the main TC.

I mean the “proof” starts with “out of sync”. It’s always suspicious when a person tries to prove to you a point of view with which you disagree.

On my 950, no one quits without a reason. I didn’t think players higher up were such softies.

Nobody likes being given advice without asking for it. But I’m not entirely sure that I understood the translation of the word “backseater” correctly. It’s hard to call that a person with 1200 Elo.

Yea, and the reverse is the same. People are no qutting at min 5 in all games.

It would benefit those people that no only keep their playstyle but force their ally to wait until they decide they had their fun.

You are taking not making this very big and telling mistakes as playing perfectly. Theres a ver Wide gap in between those scenarios.

You need the mistakes of the bug kind to overcome those type of scenarios, which i have seen plenty of in lower levels and not much in higher ones. It comes down to which scenario you are in more.

Nah, they can still help. Its the little things that help in those situations.

I dont need to check for elo when i see my ally advancing to classic age at 7 mins. While both me and my enemies advance at proper times.

I dont need aom stats to tell me my ally is not on par with my enemies when i hover over his base and see his villagers having a field trip to his wood and gold because he wont build storages.

If im vs 2 people of similar skill to mine whats the Best of my ability going to do when my ally is closest to half of any other players ability than to either one of them.

No, not at all. Im sorry but no.

You can finish games pretty fast in aom. Again if you play low level only where people stand their armies while the commune with one another, get to mythic full upgrades and the clash sure.

Games can be over <7-9 mins over gold control. Which is before mythic timings. Others finish with a heroic push.

That phrase does kind of show me the difference from our postures, the games we experience are a lot different.

The game specially the archaic age is not apm taxing as to you not being able to type. You can ask anything after the game ends. Yet they dont, to any excuse theres a way around and a solution. The crux of the matter is they dont Want to.

People don’t leave for just losing. They leave for all sorts of reasons. The thing is when there is no penalty for leaving and when no one cares about elo (since everyone knows the system is not good) the game mode will be come very weightless and unserious

I get you but I can’t do any more than that.… Every TG replay desyncs the moment some one leaves. Although makes me think I watched his profile and he seems like a decent player. maybe he was actually desynced.

That is for sure but the magnitude of that reason varies. I would never leave a match in DotA for lunch cause the punishment is too severe. But in AoM ranked? maybe. I actually had connection problems and I used to test different ping reducer appilications it in ranked mode.

Yea that’s true.

It’s happening way too often. Especially in lower elos where comeback is very possible.

If the match is high level then probably your team will also.

Ye but only in archaic age. Also who text chats in 2025?

I feel like We have been repeating the same stuff over and over again. So I’ll just end the discussion here:

With the current system no one is encouraged to stay and make a comeback. Every one will leave because that’s easier. And since people usualy judge wrong theye will leave games that they could have won. No competitive game allows people to come and go as they wish. That’s for casual game modes.

Competitive games have had punishment for leaving for nearly 20 years.

I get your point, but we have no way to determine whether someone left the game in good faith or not. Voting to quit won’t work. Someone can simply DELETE their TC and their vills. After which he will be counted as defeat.

In premades sure, in solo Q its a mystery box, which is a separate issue in of itself but also a reason trapping people in matches isnt ideal to me. This sort of bronce and challenger in a same match isnt happening in other games nearly half as often.

Anyone in any game ever?
Like you can ping spma in MOBAs but typing is still a thing last time i checked.
Theres also Voice in AoM but no one uses that

Its just excuses to me. If theres a will theres a way. If a player wants to chill and not have to “study” a game to get better all good for him. But trying to look at it any other way like player doesnt have the tools avaialable is just not the case. The player simply doesnt want to.

Fair enough. A poll would be nice to see more broad viewpoint.

Probably the most realistic to implement suggestion in this thread is creating a leaver penalty for quitting games very early (I would limit it to sub-3 minute leavers). Shouldn’t be too hard to do.

Other ideas range from “nice but I dont think its gonna happen” to “won’t really help”.

And tbh most issues are solved by finding someone reliable to play TGs with and dont bother with playing TGs with randoms, because its always gonna be a shitshow. League of Legends has been mentioned a few times here and guess what - despite that game being completely focused on teamplay, having a lot more features to make the experience better, and straight up having a much bigger pool of players to choose from (thus, its easier to get more balanced matches there), soloQ is still kind of a shitshow there, not always, but it happens. Cant fix people. A random teammate has no concern over what you find fun and whether you think its appropriate to surrender or not, you’re completely reliant on him being a good sport and taking the match at least as seriously as you do in order to have a good time.

As it stands, you’re complaining about random teammates in a game which barely anyone takes seriously as a competitive game, and which has relatively low multiplayer playerbase so matches are quite often not even (especially in TGs), and that is on top of random TGs being, well, random, when it comes to people you have to deal with. honestly idk what do you expect

OMG, I get what you’re saying. This rarely happens on low ELOs.
This is 1300 Elo dude.

For reference, the game continued for another 30 minutes after his surrender.

Moreover, this mystical guy plays several games from one account at the same time.
