Ingame wishes for 2024

Of course, of course…that would be so awesome…

Yeah, it seem good for me…but remember that the AoE 4 walls are very big to can put troops there…

This is a further good suggestion for a new Chinese unique unit.

Below you will find a graphic about such an Warrior with a fire lance. It looks great.

I’m not trying to be mean, but can change the name and the hero status of any hero, with triggers.

Speaking of triggers, an effect that adds tasks to units would be cool. But I think it would be super hard, and I had already asked for it and I don’t want to be repetitive

Something simple that could be added is a captureable elephant units similar to horses and camels.

Could you post a guide simple? The endless patches have massacred the editor.

Nice image! :+1:

It would also be cool with there was an unique or regional stone throwing catapult unit on land. I haven’t been very successful in finding a catapult that sticks out from the rest, but maybe the Couillard could be an unique catapult for the Franks.

The Couillard was a smaller and a modified version of the counterweight trebuchet made apparently by the French. Instead of having a single counterweight swinging between supports on either side, it had a split or two counterweights passing on either side of a single support.

It could function as a weaker trebuchet with lower range, but it will have a faster fire rate and can (pack/ unpack) faster than the latter, plus be available during the castle age. Maybe it could also get an attack boost when deployed near friendly buildings.

What do you specifically want to do? We can follow this conversation in PM, so we don’t clutter this thread

I would like an in game go to last military notification. I dont need to go to when the lumber camp was built or a villager spawned, but the military alarm.
Also, I would like the double click feature thats already in Age of Mythology to be featured in AoD2 DE. No reason why it cant be afterall the oxcart has now arrived.
AoM has better develpoments that AoE like grouping different military budlings to one specific hotkey

Can we have non-fat kings besides Meso lmao

I think that would work. The developers can remove the fat bellies of these Kings and make them a little slimmer.

I would like that!

However, both units should be limited to 1. You would start the game with a King and maybe the Merchant could be trained from the Trade Workshop in Imperial Age. It’s a shame that this building is not used in the game.

There’s actually an option where you can select “Regicide” in addition to other victory conditions such as “Standard Victory” (Conquest, Wonder and Relic victory) when playing a skirmish.

Unfortunately, it also gives you a Castle and extra Villagers. I would have prefered this option to just add a King and the regicide victory condition, but nothing else.

I like to play “historically accurate” scenarios. I usually pick civilizations from a specific region (so no Aztecs versus Mongols, etc.) and I’d also really like to pick a biome that fits that scenario. For example, when playing with civilizations from southern Europe, I would like to choose the Mediterranean biome (which has olive trees, goats, wolves, etc.).

I’ve never suggested that they are trainable units, so no limits need to be considered. A King can only be obtained in the regicide game, and the a Merchant can only be obtained after a player in the team researches Silk Road. Only when there is another Italians researching Silk Road in the team, you may get more than 1 Merchant.

The Kings interestingly do not look so fat in the following portrait pictures at least some of them.

I assume that the developers deliberately made the Kings (unplayable campaign and editor units except in the regicide mode) so fat in the holistic representation on the playing field because they are represent an older age of men, so that they can no more viewed as young rather are of a more established age.

More variations to the Kings and Queens needed.

I really hope they bring a new way to select civilizations. To make a ‘Custom Random’.
So you can pick the civs you want and unselect the ones you don’t want to play. And let the PC pick one for you out of the selection.

Also we really need more American civs first.

I would also love to see a unique siege tower for mayans.

The following portrait picture shows King Alfonso of Leon. He looks to me rather more like a “british” or “frankish” King. The developers can turn him into a Western European King analogous to the already existing Western European architecture set.

Below I found pictures of an Imam from the El Cid campaign and a group of Imams of Ingame shots. You can find the differences in the Fandom wiki. The “Monks” and “Imams” however still look the same but the values and activities are not the same. The developers can here still create visual differences.

I’d like to see a mechanic where a new unique infantry unit has higher defence / pierce armour when they’re in tight formation, similar to the higher attack mechanic when groups of Monaspa are together.

Here is another portrait pictures of a Central American King. I could well imagine this for the Mayans, the other variant fits better with the Aztecs.
