They might also be mixing some new merc (or even native) units with regular Italian units. I guess not all of these are regular units.

Not all content here could be for standart gameplay: da vinci tank is probably a cheat code, the “dismounted black rider” could be a scenario hero.

All of us are agree that the 2 man in front of the new buildings are architects, right??
About cathedral I think that they will get a church too as separate building. Also seems that there is an inquisidor with a torch, maybe their unique spy??

I believe both are a nod to Venice.
The ship is the Galeass, a special ship used by the Republic of Venice, while the tower might refer to them building a lot of fortress in the Mediterranean.
