It's Mexico

the more i see about them the more interest i am in playing them. there is a LOT of design gone into them.

I was somewhat disappointed until I saw the trailer.

Not super-bothered by this (in fact, I already preordered), but Aztec versus Mexico matches are going to have really awkward implications…

If devs give the support to the game by releasing new civs, historical battles, campaigns, I wil gladly buy every dlc.

Mexico was cheaper to develop for sure, as they use almost the same deck system as USA. Also will share a lot of existing units already in-game so no need for designing new ones.
I don’t understand how Persia, Siam, Morroco could fit in the game. Those are really out of the time frame and were not as relevant as American and European civs for the colonial era.

Are you kidding? Persia was one of the Gunpowder Empires and constantly fought the Ottomans and Russian during the entire period. Siam was never conquered by Britain and France despite many attempts. Morocco killed the king of Portugal, conquered the Songhai Empire, and raided much of Europe for almost the entirety of the period.

Not as awkward as Japan vs aztecs in affrica.

Japan vs aztec is historically accurate, just not in africa sadly.

edit:japan vs spain observed by aztec is historically accurate

Mexico has more depth than all the civs in AoEIV combined.

Funny watching former AoEIIIDE players come back to preview the civ comment on how much better the cannons are.

This isn’t a cash grab, a ton of work has gone into this civ. Besides the castle and folwark none of the AoEIIDE DLC civs have unique building sets, either. Though hopefully wthat doesn’t rule out a Persia down the road.

Plagiarism, or do we think the same? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

In a conflict with small battles, all the attention was on Napoleonic wars and in the new world revolutions. That’s why I say they are not that relevant for Age 3 era.

This isnt a good example of fair outcry…

There is no focus on the Napoleonic wars at all

This year Mexico had it’s 200th anniversary of the expulsion of Spanish colonial rule, that could also play a big role

I mean, mexican government in that era used to persecute nahua populations, wich are the closest descendents of the mexica

Exactly, especially when they’re great products being released along with continued support on a 15 year old game.

Brazil revolution is quite nice although it rarely works at high level because you just need artillery to counter it completely, it’s incredibly fun to try with portugal though, just make sure to have as many tc’s as possible.

I think mexico was actually quite a logical next civ, especially if it had been right after usa but adding the african civs next kind of through people off.
I for one love the US civ and am very happy with what I’ve seen from mexico so far.

Eso refuerza mi teoría gracias.

¿Cuál crees que sea la próxima civilización Individual DLC?
