My idea was not an instant dead unit.
Hashshashin: relatively quick but low HP unit that can scale walls (you click on the wall and it “jumps” across it, as if you’ve used the siege tower). Useful for harassing enemy villagers but not much else.
We could use more units that have the dire wolf’s square hit box that seems to almost dodge arrows. Can it be done
Also as basic as it may seem we don’t have a horse mounted melee anti cav yet.
Let’s call it “Mounted Archer” or “Horse Archer”:
Isn’t this the same as cavalry archer? Just call it light cavalry archer.
Light cavalry archer > cavalry archer >heavy cavalry archer
Light cavalry archer seems too long
Elite pattiyoda longbowman is the longest id imagine.Elite cavalry archer is also long.
Not a regional but a Viking Raider outside of the berserker as a shock infantry type could be cool. Not sure how it would work in practice or how to balance it but
As basic as it is, a simple anti cav horseman is not yet done. We have the camel but I’m talking like an armored anti cav unit.
Likewise we have yet to see units that dual task both strong vs cav and archers (with some offer penalty so they don’t murder cav archers too hard) or cav and infantry etc
Boyars kinda fill this role.Just making a reskin camel isnt very innovative.
Eagle warriors kinda does this.
Unit deals more damage as it loses HP. Maybe +1 attack per 35% HP lost.
That ends up with only +2 at max. Like the Kona does more bonus damage iirc
- Knockdown. (which would requiers TONS of new animations for units to fall down on the ground ahaha)
- Fear effect. (which also would requieres tons of new animations for units fleeing away xD)
- Shield-Wall. (defensive stance, slow movement, thicker formation placement)
Yeah. But unlike Kona it is permanent until the units are healed. Kona loses their extra attack once they switch the target.
It’s still only +2 so it’s most impactful place would be a ranged unit.
would possibly make sense in a tanky ranged unit that would start with comparably low damage
if it had normal damge from the start it could possibly be way too snwobally but with this gimmick it should be ok, quesi an anti-snowball feature for a type of unit design that we don’t see much of in the game (except stuff like war wagons / rathas - and we know how snowbally they can be in cerrain situations)
Not a new unit but a bonus to the existing one:
according to Hélène d’Almeida-Topor (a French historian specialized in Dahomey history), the Dahomey Amazons (an all-female military regiment of Dahomey Kingdom located in today’s Benin) were formed from elephant huntresses.
Bonus attack against elephant units for the Gbeto?
Gbeto are already a anachronistic unit
I know, and I’d like them to be moved to a more fitting civ, but a small elephant bonus might be a cool wink
Unit that has charged speed.
