Mod support
Gates
Unit grouping
Production Queuing (e.g more than 1 upgrade at a time)
Better farm refresh system, aoe2 had a decent one?
AI needs improvement (try island map and see what happens)

Not sure how you miss some of these issues and ok it for release in that state. Embarrassing tbh.

Just remove auto Q and peasents auto gather resources after building. And how about a new lobby

And remember this is Aoe 1 not 2 or 3. So just stick to the classic style. Dont make the game easy to play

Ok, then I will wait for the update while getting Wololo achievement.
:wololo: :hoyohoyo: (now you are mine, patches)

There are a good mod without steam(lol) called Rome Returns, for OAK about AoE 1.
This can satisfies your AoK desires.

Mod support - Agree with you there. Mods make thing even more fun.
Gates - This is Age 1. It’s NOT suppose to have gates.
Unit grouping - Mixed feelings, but only certain major powers at the time Age 1 takes place even used them. They weren’t common. Game’s fine without them, but pathfinding is certainly something that should be looked at if possible.
Production queuing - Fine as is. It forces you to micro manage better and strategise more.
Better farm refresh - Also fine as is. This is Age 1, NOT Age 2.
AI needs improvement - Agree with this for sure. The AI certainly is wonky. Can go from extremely tough and take you out with ease in the first minute or 2 to extremely weak and killing itself in the first minute or 2 on the exact same difficulty setting lol.

I understand why they missed some of those issues. Most of the issues you mentioned do NOT belong in a REMASTER of AOE 1. Now, had the game been given a full on remake instead, adding gates that fit the era and making them unique to each civ even would have been great. But this is not a remake. It’s a remaster. Only the bigger players, like Rome and Carthage, even used gates effectively at the time. Most powers in the time period weren’t big gate builders at all.

Let them work on the issues without stressing them, please. Of course the game has some technical issues and has some things that need an improvement, but an avalanche of criticism and hurrying comments will not help. We already know that they are working on it, so calm down and please use the Support Forums. And please STOP with the gates/farm queue bucle, those are AoE II features, and this is a remaster, not a remake.

Ahora prueba de nuevo a iniciar Age of Empires Definitive Edition.

I’ve tried your troubleshooter, I’ve tried resetting the app and I’ve tried rebooting. Basically, I’ve depleted every option except complete reinstall, and I’m not a sucker who’s gonna sit here and reinstall a 17gb piece of junk EVERY TIME I want to play it. Sorry but no, this is far beyond my tolerance and I’m speaking for MANY others;

This release has been a joke. There’s absolutely no justification for releasing a game available for pre-order, that doesn’t even run for 70% of the players upon launch, after months of prep.
I have to reinstall the game litteraly every time I want to play it. LITTERALY. Now, there are small, minimal profit indie-studios out there who can adress these issues within 24h. And loath and behold, here we have big, multi-billion corporate supergiant Microsoft who’s not even able to adress the issue after 4 days. 4 days of wait for pre-ordering customers, and the news we get is “early next week”. Well good job cutting corners, cheap jokesters. Like wtf?

It’s really beyond me how a game can be this poorly optimized, you would expect more from a company like Microsoft with all the fundings in the world. Well, I guess this is how they make money. Getting away with crap like this.
This is a huge slap in the face for any anticipating, eager fan of AoE. A slap in the face to those who payed several months in advance, being really hyped for what turned out to be a disaster. In a small, simple game like this?

Heck, DICE can release HUGE and complex games like BF, even with the way EA limits their resources and pushes early, unfinnished products, with higher success rate than this. This is a joke. A sad comedy, and a desperate, thirsty attempt to broaden the target group for the crappy Microsoft store concept. You will never be Steam, you will never be Origin, face it and maybe you’ll be able to release a properly finnished product.

I don’t mind bugs and glitches, that’s a part of releasing a game. But to not even be able to adress an issue wich keeps the customer from actually playing the game? Oh god, what have I gotten myself into.

Fixing the game for (the few) people who can’t start it should obviously be a priority, but you guys seriously need to fix the AI. They’re doing this weird thing where they send their villagers to the other side of the map to hunt/gather, when there are perfectly good resources to hunt/gather right near their town centre. This is causing the AI to lose massive amounts of villagers very early in the game to lions/guard towers/enemy units, sometimes even to the point where they lose all their villagers and have no food left to create more so they have to quit.

In custom game (random map/skirmish mode) the AI sometimes just doesn’t work. I’ve learned not to play on water maps at all (because the AI can’t handle it) and to just stick to hill country or highland map with no water. I’ve learned not to begin in nomad mode because the AI can’t handle it, so I always start at least stone age. I’ve learned not to begin with low resources because the AI loses all its villagers and can’t create more, so I always play with at least medium resources. I’ve learned to put everybody on a team because if you leave the AI teamless they will only attack you.

I’ve do all of these things in all of my games now, but still the AI is sometimes completely dead. Sometimes they build up properly and begin to attack me in the tool age with slingers, then with cavalry and catapults in the bronze age, this is fine.

But sometimes, with the exact same settings as above, I get to the iron age and haven’t been attacked once, and I send out a couple of scouts to see what the AI is doing and half of them are still in the tool age with only 4 villagers and no military. Some of them have their villagers all over the map mining gold when there is gold right near their town center.

Basically the AI is screwed. I hope you’re working on this.

I’ve got the same problem as szalty here. Working after reinstallation, and when I switch off computer and the next day switch on - the game will not run. There is one screen, but after that is closing. Only working after reinstalling. It’s not comfortable. I’ll wait for fixing this. I have free avast antivirus , but cannot find this game in efficiency game list.

Why the ■■■■ does this exist? More importantly who are the idiots purchasing it? After you totally ripped off all the purchasers of the last AOE…why would anyone trust you not to do the same…and why on earth would you even want to make a new version when you canned the best AOE yet? Makes me sick that people are falling for this con game.

The game is nice. The problem was the store.Making a program / game in an app does nothing but create technical problems

Can you make differents colors for each factions in the campain please ? I want the Romans in RED

Also maybe you should add the gates and fixe the zoom issues

It look like i don’t have all the option in campaigns for exemple i don’ see the history

Will the updates be automatic ???

So ■■■■■■■ sticky I’ll just get back to the original. Thanks Microsoft for the money draining.
