This is definitely a real issue. I’m in Oregon and from time to time when European players who are my friends host games i cannot find it, and they have to invite me for me to get in.
BUT, THERE IS A SOLUTION!!! Use aoe2.net to browse the lobby and find games. aoe2.net seems to see all the games, and you can even use it’s lobby browser to connect directly to the game. Just go into the game, then tab/alt out and use aoe2.net to find and join the games you want. You can also sort it by rating or how filled it is.
Hi, it often happens in the evening that when creating a multiplayer game, with the create lobby command the game is not displayed on the browes lobby page, only the friends I invite to see it.
this problem is recurrent in the evening, in the afternoon everything runs smoothly, what can it depend on ??
+1 on that.
The problem exists at least for several past days and there’s no solution yet.
The only way to join any lobby is by using 3rd party aoe2.net site
Same problem here, very few games in the lobby and people never seem to join my games. Even at the best of times it still felt like there were less games than there should have been. I’m in the UK but have only ever had people join my lobbies if I set the Server to West Europe but at the moment not even that works.
The whole lobby system needs a rework with the ability to easily see player ratings and not having to manually refresh. I’ve tried to get friends involved but they quickly lose interest due to those issues.
The problem with that is that hardly a room is created, in 3 seconds it is already full, it makes me think of another games where it was difficult to enter and people spammed “update lobby” and are “so hungry” to join the game, so it’s so difficult to get in
The malfunctioning of Multiplayer seriously frustrates me.
There are barely any games visible as I can only see “westeurope” games - and always 1/3 is locked and 2/5 are full - and the few games that are not full are full in like 2 seconds.
When I try to start a public game (own lobby) it doesn’t seem to be visible to other players - as in like 90% of the cases nobody joins - and sometimes, like 1/10 times, it’S full in like 10 seconds.
Ranking games: I wait for minutes and minutes and it never starts, even after 10 minutes. Why should anybody wait that long?
So it’s just not fun at all. I really love this game - but it’s a pain in the a** to find a game - especially when I’m trying to fine one with friends.
Same problem here, West Europe. As far as I know, this problem has existed since launch.
If I try to play with a friend it’s completely impossible to use the lobby browser. If I create a game, no one else sees it. If a friend creates a game, no on sees it. If we try to join a lobby it’s also super hard, since the few lobbies who end up working get filled up super fast.
I never had this problem until this week. I could always see lots of lobbies with games from other regions too, but now I can only see from western europe. Mabye at last sunday’s server maintence they did something wrong?
Even when I type the exact name of my friends lobby into the search box, it still won’t find it. How they can legally hold onto people’s money who bought this game, is something that needs to be looked into. I paid for a product, it doesn’t work, when I asked for a refund they said, “No, you’ve played over 2 hours”
What con-merchants.
I think this is a serious problem which needs urgent action from Microsoft. We have noticed the same pattern for the last two weeks. Sometimes we create a lobby and wait for hours and nobody shows up. After relaunching the game and creating a lobby, sometimes people flood the room.
I can clearly confirm that there is a huge problem with the lobbies, which has become unbearable for the last couple of days.
I’ve been posting about this issue for a while, my posts keep getting removed about the issue though. 50/50 shot i can create a lobby that actually appears in the browser. if it doesnt work, I have to log out and back in then maybe can create 1 lobby before it starts not appearing again.
