Will you keep working on your mod or will wait to see whats coming in the new DLC first?
Well since so far it appears that the Tanguts & Jurchens are the civs that are in the DLC, we will keep working. As currently the campaigns cover the Chinese, Tibetans & Khitans. The latter two of which do not seem to be included.
On release of the DLC (and these guesses are correct) the Tanguts & Jurchens will be added to the campaigns instead of the mod civs. As currently these two are the ones we have worked on the least, with the Jurchens being difficult design-wise, and neither speaking their proper languages.
I met this trouble in mod building, and I donât know how solve it :(, I think it get some problem with mod. Yakko Chinese in browser
We.are.so.BACK!
With the currentâŠcough situation, it looks like I will be retaking the reigns on this mod and giving players what they ACTUALLY wanted, and asked for. This is the second time restarting this due to DLC but I guessâŠ

With that said. I am looking into some options with how to handle this.
Jurchens:
They are now going to be in the game. However, they are locked behind this disgraceful DLC, and I will never insist on anyone buying it.
So. In that case. I would like people to suggest what they would prefer:
1: A new version of Jurchens be modded in.
2: A campaign be made for official Jurchens, and anyone who did buy the DLC can use it with them. However I will still keep to my policy of in now way endorsing this DLC or encouraging anyone to spend money on it.
Let me know which you prefer.
Tanguts & Khitans:
These two have frankly been butchered into a disgusting chimera. I am not sure how to do this on a technical level, but the current plan is to make new versions of both of these, and then cherry-pick the right mechanics for both, with each keeping their correct UUs.
Iâm not sure how to handle the castle (as it might require the DLC to access) so I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
Chinese 2, Chinese 3 & Chinese 4:
I will not under any circumstances be using these civs in my campaigns. They are the Chinese. We already have the Chinese, and it will be used where appropriate.
However, as they will not require the DLC to access them, I may use some of their regional units, as they are still appropriate for the Chinese to have anyway. Taizong of Tang famously used the Hei Guang Cavalry as his personal guard. Would be a shame to waste itâŠ
Taizong & Tride Tsuktsen:
These two campaigns, while mechanically playable, would look good with a bit of extra visual sprucing up. So I will be making them much more visually appealing via the new scenario editor models, and giving some appropriate UUs to their opponents that have been added.
I might also look at reworking a few civs for greater historical accuracy.
To those who were looking forward to this mod, I am sorry for abandoning it for so long. I did have other priorities on top of the DLC encroaching. And to those new here, welcome! We have a Discord, and I will be opening it up via a link rather than DMing me for it:
I want nothing from V&V2.
Will be downloading this mod now.
Also this topic deserves to be pinned to the top of the forums.
@Tyranno13 is this mod still published. I cant find it in the mod center. Or am I just a dummy-dingus?
A new version of Jurchens, please
I think the current Jurchen are pretty good
I agree. They are a fun enemy. Dodging rocket charts while the rockets explode after a while is pretty exciting. They should be taken as they are.
On the kitan: since they have the tangut castle and boxi, what is actually kitan about them? (Asking as someone really not knowing)
I thought about this mod yesterday. Good luck!
It has links if you canât find it.
But the new update might have messed with it, so I am not sure if it still works as off a few days ago.
An update.
The Bai civilisation will now be added to the Mandate of Heaven mod! Here is a breakdown of the civilisation, itâs techs, bonuses and unique unit:
(These techs and bonus are subject to change pending balancing and technical work)
The Bai unique unit is the Bai Li, an infantry unit that gains extra pierce armour when around other Bai Li. It has high HP as well, to soak up even more damage, and has a small bonus verses cavalry.
This civilisation is designed like a Snapping Turtle. Tough, slow and prickly, but with the occasional surprising burst of speed and aggressiveness.
There will also be a 6-level campaign for the Bai, following Wang Cuodian. Here is a promo shot.
In fact, here are some more campaign shots from the Tangut and Tibetan campaigns:
If you wish to help, want to get updates on the mod or just want to chat about it, you can do any of those in our Discord, link below:
I hope you enjoyed this look at the new Bai civilisation. There will be further updates on the changes to the Tanguts, Tibetans, Khitans & Jurchens at a later date.
Hi @DodoNotDoDo could you check why the âMandate of Heavenâ mod is listed here but cannot be found from search?
Itâs set to hidden. So while itâs visible via direct link, it will only show up in search for the mod creator.
wow i didnt even know a dlc existed that has the civs that should be in the new garbage. this will do lovely. thanks Tyranno.
yes, seconded. it should be pinned. i dont know how i missed it. this is the rebellion dlc we needed and the only good parts of the new dumpster fire can be ported over to the mandate of heaven in relation to the Jurchens and Khitans/Tanguts with the rest left to rust with the shills like the vipersoft.
Has anyone played the latest version of this ? Opinions? I love the 5 civs selected.
I cant play for the next few weeks.
Sadly the mod isnât working due to the big patch breaking it. So it needs fixing first.
Some people did play it beforehand. In fact someone streamed itâŠand also forgot to activate half the mod, so it was kinda visually messed up haha.
IâVE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUCEMENT!
On the 18th, there will be a live-stream where the updated Khitans, Tanguts, Jurchens and Tibetans will be revealed. Alongside another look at the Bai.
If all goes to plan, I will be in the comments answering questions.
Will the Wu and Shu be in the mod too?
WoooooooahâŠyouâre going to have two different civs for the para-mongolic khitans and the tibeto-burman tanguts?
Quite unorthodox.
