RTS and MOBAs barely have any comp players in common, a smashbro pro simply wont a pro in AOE games.
also afaik microsofts approach is largely one of “dont mind, dont care” when it comes tournaments, which IMO is the right thing to do, if an Esport cant at least stand a bit on its own legs it shouldn’t artificially be forced to exist.

I still have to play them to find out, but I might actually agree with you. Most of their strengths are either gimmicky or situational. The Georgians are far more rounded and have strength through all ages.
No disrespect to AoE 4 players, I just find it hilarious all the time when ppl bring this up as a negative aspect about AoE 2

I actually found a greek version of mythbusters on the mirror and the steam cannon by Archimedes from the siege of syracuse against the romans.
The mirrors are very effective against ships. I’m going to love them even more now in AoM lol.
And the steam cannon is also very interesting.
