Microsoft, DLC for AoE1 please!

As I said - minus times minus equals plus. It must make sense from also in the future also neither historically, optically or logically, main thing it happens, as I would have to. We have made these mistakes before, then we can always repeat them. As absurd as it is in the end, the main thing is that I have my way.

Sweet man thanks for the info, but unfortiunately, I am so busy with studies that I won’t have time to do so, I’ll only make time to encorporate the new DE2 DLCs into my mod.

Here is hoping someone will take the lead in DE1.

Since meso civis will lack cavalry its a must to have full academy units.

And nothing is stopping them from having them.

Hum, I don’t know about some of these civ choices… Personally I’d have Hebrews (Israelites), Harappans (Indians), Armenians, Kushites, Akkadians and maybe Etruscans, Canaanites and Lybians. Iberians, if we made them based in the Tartessians could also be a good idea. I’m also not a fan of adding Mesoamerican or more underdeveloped European and Asian cultures. But maybe that’s just me.

I would love civlizations from all over the world, honestly, but the game would look weird with people from places other than Eurasia and Africa. If new cultures coming from America get added, they would require not only new architectural sets, but also units as well, also new maps, terrain, fauna and flora, etc. It’s kinda complicated. I’d like Scythians, Celts, more people from Africa and the Middle East, even more civs coming from Asia would be awesome.

For AoE2:DE it is easier to add basically ANY culture in the world (and even from times before the Medieval era), since that game has a lot of assets, unlike its predecessor, which has barely EMEA terrain, flora and fauna. Even the trainable units are Greco-Roman-looking. I think the game would benefit from adding new techs, civilizations from the same regions, and unique units, if that’s what would bring us closer to the uniqueness of every culture within ancient times.

Total War Rome 2 has units that look good/historically accurate but they don’t branch out to Asia, Africa, or New World.

Many terrains and fauna assets were also added along with the expansions. If my memory is correct, original AOE2:AOK did not even have snow. Not to mention most of the units in AOE2 are western European.

For AOE1:DE if they really take the effort to add more assets, these should be also possible.

Isn’t this the thing which makes expansions charming in the first place?

I really loved the new fauna and flora which got added through AOE2:HD’s DLCs.

Flora and fauna is the lesser problem. As we have discussed extensively before, in Age1, American civs make no sense whatsoever.

That is your opinion and your arguments as to why make no sense but we have already had this discussion so please refrain from bringing it up again…

Most of these ideas aside from the Vandals, Celts, Israelites, and Scythians don’t make sense. They didn’t do much during the ancient period.

We are still missing a lot of civs. Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Huns should all be in the first DLC titled, Barbarians (simple, I know) imo

I would much rather get Celts and Scythians, than Goths and Huns, since those are only relevant very late into Antiquity, at the tail end of the game’s timeframe, while Celts and Scythians actually existed in the Bronze Age.

They could also bring the much requested Bronze Age Axemen, Slinger, Bowman and Scout upgrades, so Trash units are not just permanently stuck in the Tool Age, but still have no Iron Age upgrades, so they do not just become too prevalent.

Mauryans should be a mandatory civilization, for any game set in the Ancient World. Mayans and Olmecs are also the Classical Antiquity of the entire American continent.

Mayurans are the best umbrella term for all of india and it fills the gap between china and persia.

Well, they could also go withHarappans, as they are the older of the 2, but I would agree that Mauryans, if we only ever got 1 Indian civ, would be the best option.

If we were to get 2, or even an Asian DLC, the Maryan, Harappans, Israelites and Scythians would be cool.
Alternatively, Scythians could come in an European DLC instead, with Thracians, Germanians and Celts, and the 4th Asian civ would be Bactrians or Vietnamese.
