Mouse cursor bugs out sometimes

Issue:

Signing in to the Xbox network for the first time (using the pop-up sign-in window) bugged out my mouse cursor. It stayed on the loading wheel until I changed tabs out of the game. When I went back in, the mouse looked like a normal Windows cursor instead of the standard game cursor. From that point, if I hovered over something, the cursor would change but be stuck as whatever it changed to until I tabbed out and back in to the game again. The only way to fix the issue was to restart the game.

Update: It happened again when I launched the game, this time with no connection to the Xbox network.

I’m having the same issue, and I’m also on windows 10, same game version and build number. Re-starting the game didn’t fix it, but I went into the editor, put down a random unit, playtested, then went back and now it’s fixed. I have no idea if play-testing was required, or if it was just the editor that fixed it.

Another possibly related thing that’s happened to me a couple of times during the campaign is that sometimes the cursor won’t change for certain units (but with no consistency), e.g. won’t change to an ankh when commanding a Priest of Ra to empower, won’t change to the hunting cursor when commanding a Laborer to hunt.

Same two bugs:

  1. Starting the game, the cursor is a loading circle until tabbed out and back into the game.
  2. Cursor didn’t reset to default cursor:
    • Started tutorial
    • moved screen while holding right mouse button, changing cursor to little arrow
    • cutscene starts
    • After cutscene, cursor stays as little arrow
    • Using a god power, cursor switches to a lightning bolt icon
    • Stays lightning bolt icon
    • Order attack move for units, changing cursor to sword/boots icon
    • Stays sword/boots icon
    • At some point in battle, cursor switches back to little arrow icon
    • Cursor only changes back when leaving the game, back in the menu

This is still happening and happens most often when alt-tabbing out of the game and then back in.
