agree. Due to its 100% accuracy rate, Springald replaced crossbowmen in the middle of the game, effectively dealing with heavily armored enemies. People with Springald can simply kill the enemy. The enemy wants to destroy the Springald covered by infantry. It will be very troublesome. The best way is to also create your own Springald. So the game became a battle of Springald, not a battle between infantry and cavalry, which made the game boring.
Players need to be limted to a few siege only itās not fun at all and also nerf how good they are.
Springalds? Sure. The rest of the siege roster? Gonna have to disagree. Siege(excluding specific civ bonuses and rams) is a third age tech and is a heavy investment. Generally, siege cannot preform well if it is alone on the field and requires some kind of buffer unit to protect it.
Your tier 1 spears and tier 2 archers should get obliterated by tier 3 siege weapons (mangonels). Especially if you group them. It is essentially a reward for those who risk going castle and go into siege. Make cavalry and anti-siege siege units if you want to resist siege. When you advance into the mid and late game, you generally want a combination of melee, ranged, and siege for a reliable army composition. I like Spears+Crossbows+Mangonels and some Springalds sprinkled in.
No all seige. I rather them get rid of cannons and trebs have only rams and seige towers. Trebs and cannons are annoying.ruin the game.
They definitely need to have a limt to how many a player is must.dont want all cannons no troops battles
It sounds like you play defensive, yes cannons and trebs will obliterate walls and keeps. If you play a civ who has access to them, I suggest culverins and springalds to destroy them at range along with villagers to repair your damaged siege. Unfortunately walls will not allow culverins and springalds to fire while behind them. So I would keep an army of spears and your defensive siege in front of the walls. Its fine if your spears die to the crossfire, as long as your siege is safe and your walls are standing.
Donāt be afraid to take out siege of your own. Be like a Zerg and adapt change, evolve. Stand still, stagnate, you will die.
Mangonels sure arenāt the problem but I do think that springalds and bombards are too fast and too tough. Their damage is fine but given how fast they move and how quickly they are able to pack and unpack they are too difficult to get to and when you do most of the time you donāt even get to destroy them all because they have so many hitpoints and the torch-attacks are weak and have a slow animationspeed.
So my suggestion would be to make springalds and bombards slower, increase their pack and unpack time and increase the torch-attack animation-/attackspeed.
If you get enough Mangonel, they will wipe out any amount of Knights. You just dont see them often because Springald did a good job at countering them
Trebs and Bombards are fine. Them hardcountering buildings late game is necessary in order to prevent it from stalling for too long.
Field trained springalds and rams are the problem
Culverin is the answer in late game.
1-Shots Springald, 1 or 2 Shots Mangonel.
Also if you can get in range makes short process with Trebs.
Bombards should do less damage to siege units so that the Culverin also counters the Bombard effectifely. Right now Bombard vs Culverin can go both ways.
Springalds⦠They need to balance this for sure⦠also they are so boring, I would had prefer scorpions 10 times over Springalds⦠And bombards, they simple donāt fit in this game, you have no way to counter it if you are behind a wall, also they take down the wall in 1 sec. They also count as a biological unit so mongols speed buff applies to it,
Also them being as fast as infantry is a joke.
Bombards move too fast yes, their damage is perfectly fine though. Thereās a reason the Ottomans finally took Constantinople only in 1450ās with Great Bombards and not earlier and look at the speed of the french conquest of southern Italian fortifications in 1495. Medieval stone fortresses were becoming a thing of the past and pure cannon fortresses (Redoubts) were the replacement (beyond the timeline of this game).
Springalds are a joke. They are like scorpions I. Age 2 if scorpians did 8x the damage, had armour and moved quickly.
LOL why do Trebs and Cannons ruin the game?
Anyways, Springalds are a bit broken, Mangonels could get some tweaks as well. Trebs should be weaker in Castle Age. Thats my take on it at least.
All u need is rams and towers not all the op siege there to annoying no place in a game relic get rid of seige donāt listen to these trolls let people enjoy the game
Mangonel, Nest of Bees and Springald should all be removed from the game. The Bombard need to be tweaked to deal less damage vs units but keep the same damage against building.
No bombarded need to leave the game and habe no place in this game this is to the devs and not all u trolls who use them. They need to do something about and do it now
I agree with folks above: lower movement, increase set up time a bit and swap the Springald dmg so it does same to siege but less to all other units. Removing the end game units vs buildings clearly not the answer.
Disagree. Siege alone will get trampled. You need to balance it with other units otherwise siege is useless. Nerfing it will just make more games drag on.
