New Civilisations to diversify old Civilisations

Why do you hate Poles so much?

Read about them and you don’t talk nonsense.

I don’t hate them, but there is zero chance to make new unique.

We don’t need redundant civs when there are more unique ones remaining in the world elsewhere to be covered.

It won’t be redundant at all.

Cheshire is using stupid reasoning and j will debunk him when i have time

None of the civs are unique using your reasoning

Please tell me how Poles would be redundant, I’d like to hear your argument against them

Third Winged Hussar in the game.

I didn’t say anything about a winged hussar.

Also, only Eastern Europe civs should have hussars; not almost all civs. Hungarian UU is dumb and was basically due to lack of effort but ye, I would choose Pancerni for Poland UU.

You have made this way too broad.

The Poles will have a diff farm bonus (I suggested 2 villagers per farm, farm cost is 100 wood).
The Poles have free Cav armor upgrades instantly researched as well as gaining +1 attack per 2 castles built.
The Poles receive a small portion of scoutline and pancerni cost back upon death (33%)
UT - Castle Age, Stable units and cav archers can be created at castle and are created faster
UT - Imp. Age, Pancerni, Scout-line gain +25% HP (no blood-lines).
Team Bonus is monk hp +20

Every civilisation that is not nomadic has farmers. That’s not a special trade of Poland.

Poland was known for heavy cavalry not light cavalry.
Polish Hussars are heavy cavalry and they are also not Medieval. They are more like the Hussars in AoE3 which are the highest HP of the Age 2 cavalry.

Lithuanian was later ruled by Poland so proving once again that Poland is a more important civilisation than some civilisations that are already in the game.

The Winged Hussars in the game are clearly based on the Polish Winged Hussars. But those weren’t Mediaeval nor where they light Cavalry. They shouldn’t be in the game like this but they aren’t the only historically wrong unit anyway, most AoK Unique Units where memes.
That’s why I think that Poland shouldn’t be a light cavalry focused civilisation despite the fact that the Hussars are clearly based on Polish design.

Most generic units in AoE2 only fit some civilisations.
The Knight clearly doesn’t look Asian and the Crossbow definitely doesn’t fit into a Mayan army.
Also all generic units besides the Camel Rider are white skin, that works of for Asians but for Africans or Americans?

Well your thoughts are unfounded.

Please state ur unique ones.

Change my bonuses for knight line then instead of scout

I remember doing this

Small historical background:
Farmer and lumberjack bonus is to reflect Polish economy.
Eagle Nests was a system of Polish castles builded ( mostly ) during Kazimierz The Great reign in XIV century.

But that is just my boring template for a Polish civilization. I believe it is really possible to make that civilization fairly unique ( like the Burgundians or Sicilians ). I especially like DarthPyro4335 idea to gave them more expensive farms where 2 vills can work.

I like the Imp Tech but other than that not much :stuck_out_tongue:
maybe monk and cav armor

It is not Unique. The Castle bonus is Lithuanian. Mongols already have Hussars with extra HP. Koreans already have villagers with extra LOS. Aztecs have Monks with extra HP.

We need Unique stuff like that:

  1. Thais - Elephant + Gunpowder + Defensive civ
  2. Chams - Navy + Siege civ
  3. 2x2 Farms, Stone Walls in Dark Age, boosted Outpost, Healers, Flamethrowers, Macemen, new regional units, Catamarans, Bombard Elephants, Siege Camels, merged armor techs, merged drop-off techs etc.

We don’t even know for sure that new civs are coming and you are almost killing each other in the comments. I share the same opinion as @Juggernaut8704 and @CheshireWig3203 but maybe we’ll see the civs @DarthPyro4335 wants first, who knows.

Just calm down. I anyway think that the devs have their own way of deciding which civs get into the game, so it’s pretty much not deciding who will “win” the discussion here.

Here’s the reasoning Cysion has in regards to new civs and how they design them:

It’s pretty long but it explains his way of thinking.

Yes after the two new unknown DLCs in SteamDB have been added, I speculate they have already made their decisions on the upcoming civs.
