Me too, I expected the game to be left in mantain mode. Although I guess that they will add Poland and Denmark, that it’s better to nothing, but I would love to have non European or post colonial civs. Still hyped!
No encuentro mucha información ni ilustraciones sobre los uniformes militares de Dinamarca, solo pude encontrar al cazador danés de la casa de Oldemburgo. Hay otras facciones mucho más fáciles de crear porque están mejor registradas.
“The Sultan’s Ascend” is a rather unusual case. A similar case is AoE2’s “The Conquerors” and “The Forgotten,” but the former at least had a consistent theme, and the latter was originally based on a fan-made mod, so it’s an exception.
However, “The Sultan’s Ascend” pretended to be a Crusader or Muslim theme, but had too many unrelated elements, giving me a cluttered impression. Personally, I don’t think it is a very exemplary strategy.
That doesn’t say anything about being a potential civ or not.
With civs like Malta (sure, an easter egg civ) and Hausa, I doubt the average person knows about their units without searching deeper since it’s boring to have civs with only known units and history.
There’s Ski Troopers and Gunboats for start and I bet @Jonasnee8581 knows more…Just because they’re no pop-culture Winged Hussars doesn’t mean they’re not a benefactor for a potential civ.
Also probably too specific an area to focus on. Not everyone wants to play with post colonial civs, especially when there are many oft-requested entire timeframe-spanning empires and nations around the world to put in.
I’d hope that fed state civs continue, albeit sporadically like the previous two.
I honestly hope that if they really someday publish a Asian civ dlc that they after that also do an overhaul for the 3 Asian civs that we have at the moment.
I mean simple things like changing the hero’s from religious leaders to just explorers - also adjusting the stats - and splitting the monastery into two buildings. Maybe even give china two barracks, instead letting some Banner armies spill into the castle.
With a completely new Asian DLC there may be problems in designing the new content because it would have to be consistent with the old Asian civs which are stereotypical.
A partial solution to the problem would be to create a completely new category of civilizations - Islamic (this would include MENA countries - the Middle East and North Africa). In this way, the most popular candidate from Asia, i.e. the Persians, could more easily (and perhaps more attractively) become a full-fledged civ. In this way, Arabians, Barbary Pirates, Egyptians, Moroccans and even Tatars (who could be both the nomadic and most asymmetric civ in the entire series AoE) could also join. Moreover, the Ottomans civ could receive another rework that would make them an Islamic Civilization (of course, it is about belonging to the category of civilization).
Thanks for the likes of my previous post, all of you guys!
@MUTYLATOR5553 Hopefully in the future the Chinese, Japanese and the Indians will get updated to adress these issues. When the [Meteor Hammer] unit for example gets redesigned and renamed to something else, they could then perhaps be armed with a Bian (Hard Whip) instead of the namesake weapon that they use.
This club-like weapon, which looks very similar to a sword, was apparently used mainly on horseback with one hand, but sometimes a horseman could be armed with two of them in each hand. If that is the case, then it would be cool if there was a dual wielding cavalry unit in the game.
I doubt that is a prerequisite, in the end the devs will/would choose how to design the civ. Even they could choose if they have budget to fix old stereotypes of old Asians civs. Anyway, hopefully they will be non-european/post-colonial, but my bet is on Poland and Denmark.
