New December PUP in the way:

In non US countries its usually 100 km/h which is nearly the se and much more practical

In some regions in the United States, time measurements are preferred due to high traffic conditions (Similar to other countries). Freeways in such areas often have signs with updating time estimates to offramps.

Anyhow back to topic. I am glad the Georgian bug was fixed.

Still disappointed nothing much on editor/modding. (but, I understand.) Some interesting changes though for sure.

edit: Oh, correction
There are new things in the editor with triggers. I will update it in my guide. (They always seem to forget to document these things
)

edit: “Create Object Armor”, “Create Object Attack”, and “Modify Attribute By Variable”.

Actually miles is use with minutes while kilometers are use with hours
So, about speed it’s pretty much the same if you know the difference between hours and minutes
Imperial suits better a human scale which was the norm pretty much always, the Romans just improved it in a way that the system is still use world wide like in the rails
Metric system is based on a ten scale system which helps a lot when changing scales and suits better the new technologies that are way off the human scale like nanoscience or the digital world

Miles is used by dumb people. Kilometres is used by smart ones.

Absolutely love that they’re keeping with the stained glass concept for the tech icon, but I have to agree with many who said the yellow circle is a bit much. It doesn’t contrast well with mary’s skin or the white cloth wrapped around her head. It feels like she doesn’t stand out as much as John.

As far as the tech goes, I again have to give praise. It helps in the mid-game when conversion resistance is most helpful, w/o completely shutting down monks, and now devotion+faith cost 100f + 100g less than faith used to cost, which was another contention, that faith cost too much compared to techs that improve monks and their conversion ability. It’s a light touch, there may be more tweaking in the future, which I’m actually ok with. Monks/Monastery have remained mostly unchanged since AoC so I wouldn’t want an overnight overhaul, so I prefer these incremental small changes.

Relatedly, there’s been few changes to monks since 2000. SOTL releases a monastery tech video this summer. Not six months later the devs gotta add a monastery tech.

Yeah I figured that out immediately. But you went for the most extreme example. All generic battle ships have 0 MA though. So not a big issue. Turtle ship would be the biggest pain though as they have 6 MA, reducing the damage from 44 to only 20. Similarly Portuguese navy and Thirisadai will also be a bit difficult.

Seems like so.

Probably intentional to keep biblical accuracy? 11

Excellent. Siege Workshop techs next. Oh, wait. There is no tech in Siege Workshop.

You are correct. I did go for the extreme example, though the lower the melee armor, the less noticeable the change.

I will say though, even a cavalier with 2+3 melee armor, would take a maximum of 5 damage per projectile. So even five dromons getting the best possible hit on a cavalier with bloodlines wouldn’t kill it. I’d say that’s a middle of the road example, and still it’s a noticeable difference.

But yes, Teutonic Knights, Boyars, Turtle ships, definitely outliers. Dromons won’t ALWAYS produce and un-intuitive result, but definitely CAN produce and un-intuitive result.

SOTL released a university tech video not long after the monastery tech video. FE it’s your move lol.

Probably intentionally nerfed them against land units.

Oh yeah. I forgot. Stronghold is now a generic tech in 2024. Celts get extra +1/+1 infantry armor as new UT. 11

zero modding support or fixes, beautiful

I’m from England, and yes, we use miles for long distances, miles per hour for speed limits, and feet and inches for height – but we often use centimetres and metres for other short measurements. We usually use stones and pounds to weigh humans, but grams and kilograms to weigh food; pints for measuring drinks (especially beer), but litres and millilitres for measuring liquids used in cooking; etc. From the outside this probably seems like a mess, but it’s a mess I grew up with and am used to. I’m not going to argue that either system is “better” – I think it depends on context.

Me too, but it would be nice if the stained glass was in a medieval rather than 19th-century style

Sarcastic :pinched_fingers:

What kind of mod support you are looking for?

I’m 99.99% sure diagonal gates won’t behave accordingly.

Big buff against building. Seems unnecessarily making them way stronger than CG.

I think a big part of this change is that you can now get part of the effect in castle age. previously elephants in castle age are super weak because monks are even stronger in low numbers engagements. I would like to see how this plays out

5 people shouting about it in the forum is not massive support. I think feel they are already on thin ice changing a legacy civ as much as they are

I always have that feeling when new techs are added. Gambesons (and even Arson) looked weird when they were added, but are totally fine now. I think it just takes getting used to. If you want to try an experiment: look at the tech icons for hand cannoneer and bombard cannon, back when they had to be researched and see if they also feel weird

how is this any better than 1900 km? If anything km are more convenient: you divide by 100 and you get approximate driving time in hours (since cars happen to go about 100km/h). At this point the vast majority of coutnries and the vast majority of peole use the metric system, so it’s time to join the rest of the world in the 21st century

Why so? Can you please explain?

More like 117 people wanting it:

And for what it’s worth, 7 against.

Also I have seen people requesting it on other mediums.

I feel like thats fine. since the minimum requirement for wololo is up by 1 that already buffs all units against monks, +1 more on devotion which is now +2 (though need to spend that food/gold which isn’t much).

with bengal that can be upped even more.

I still feel faith is going to be under utilized and still cost a bit too much

Finally!!! 20 characters
