It seems too soon, personally.

This soon might just be another profile pictures DLC

Blech! I sure hope not. Something more interesting than that please.

Have you still not experienced every part of Mountain Royals? It took me 2 weeks at most. Another 2-4 would’ve if I played multiplayer.

I think 3-4 months between DLC-s would be good.

Which would mean 1 civ per DLC.
DLC takes time. They need to have ideas, make models, try it, redo whats not working properly or over/underpowered, work on month updates, fix previous game issues, change plans based on feedback etc.

Voice acting also takes some time.

Supposedly that’s not hard to do. I have backlogs of civ concepts going decades if anyone believes me.,

Funny they were able to make 5 civs back before the year 2k before there were super dedicated 3d model makers and those were SPRITES which if Im not mistaken are harder to make since a 3d model you can put a different ‘skin’ or texture over if needed.

Those two seem like minimal issues, If the OG devs could give as big an expansion as Conqs made in under a year theres no reason thgese devs with ease-of-use tech can make as hard.

No. In no world a civilization takes more time to develop than a month. Only the campaigns take more time than that. Civ bonuses are easy to come up with in a mostly symmetric RTS.

I wish it’s a campaign only dlc

Honestly just about anything would be an upgrade from the icon dlc we got.

This could be a DLC similar to DoI - it was mentioned in the Roadmap. So is there an upcoming division of one of the umbrella civs???

Could be the DLC that fixes the pathing. Some people will pay for it.

I haven’t even completed any of the campaigns

It was always 3D models. Have you ever heard of pre-rendered graphics? Like in NES Donkey Kong Games? Age of Empires does it too, they’ve done it since AoE1.

It is most probably a campaigns only DLC or it introduces the older challenge scenarios in one section as they had promised long ago.

Sprites are made by rendered 3d models as images, its the same for units buildings and everything else you see ingame.

Making a civi is not just coding in civilization bonuses its a lot more things.

Funny I played around in Mario Paint as a kid and sprites didnt have any 3d models just pixel by pixel artwork.

A 3d model is easier since it can be rendered once and flipped 360 degrees with a texture paint. Want to make a new cavalry? Just change a fee model assets and make a new texture and Blender is free

Meanwhile each sprite needs to be made and animated EIGHT times for the 8 cardinal directions.

Is that the same as an rts game?dont compare apples to oranges.

No but I know a bit about how spiriting worked back before 2000 when games were made by pixels. You can even see the pixelation in the old unit and building sprites!

Read the below.
