New Dlc Options

Yes, eventually there will be an end. But as long as it generates profit for the devs and there is creativity to create more civs, I imagine the additions will continue for a long time.

Well, I think that’s exaggerated. As I said, aoe2 is not that demanding. Goths and Huns left almost nothing and yet Ensemble managed to add them in a unique and interesting way. I confess that I don’t know how much I would like about the Swahili (and that’s why I personally prefer to replace them with Somalis), but I know that the Shona have enough information for a civ of their own. So I have no problem doing at least Kongo and Shona.

Let’s assume the limit is 60 civs. There would be 18 slots missing: we could have 6 African, 6 American and 6 Asian civs. If the limit is 48, we can fill the remaining 6 slots with 3 African and 3 American; or 2 African, 2 American, 2 Asian. I don’t see why there should be competition.

There’s no need to unite multiple civs under an umbrella that doesn’t exist in history (like pre-DOI Indians) or make one civ represent them all when there’s enough info to tell them apart.

Yes, I know. I also don’t want to break the limit. With my suggestion, I had in mind the campaign of the Shona king Gatsi Rusere that begins in 1589 and extends to 1623. Some Portuguese appear with bombard cannons, but in general the battles are fought with medieval weapons. So I wouldn’t see any problem.
