I’m just here to highlight that the weird steppe lancer shown off in the Green vs Purple picture seems to hold a quiver
Perhaps this is another stance-switching unit like the Rathas!

Now that it has reached the stage of being put on the Microsoft Store, I think all the contents can not be changed.
I have been waiting for DLC with the theme of Caucasus for many years. I am glad that it finally appears this time. However, I am still disappointed that only two civs have been updated this time. In fact, Safavid Dynasty is very suitable to be on the stage as the history of Azerbaijan, making Azerbaijan a new civ.
It is a pity.
Not the best idea given current events, and the Azeri are also far less notable than the Armenians and Georgians. My Caucasus expansion idea also added the Alans and Khazars, but alas, this was not to be.
Its just for show, magyar uu has a bow on the side as well.
Kind of guessed the content of the DLC yesterday:
That the Caucasus would soonish be the theme of a future DLC was expected.
Disappointed by the reusal of Mediterranean architecture set. At least they added a unique monastery model.
The next DLC should focus on America or Africa.
Somehow it’s exactly what I expected but I’m still not very happy. They’ve literally checked the marks with 2 new civs, 2 unique castles and three campaigns like it was the case with DotD or LOTW. The only surprise was the monastery model, which is really a net plus I admit.
After all these years, just noticed they have a bow 11. Thanks for pointing that out!
Yet they look very similar to Steppe lancers, I wonder what role will they perform… they’re mounted though that means genbows will deal with them easily!
It could simply be a Monastery, but I also think that it could be a Monastery/fortress hybrid unique to the Georgians, as it looks too big and fortified to simply be a Monastery, and also the structure it’s based on is a fortress.
Yes indeed after this dlc they should have little to no reason to look back to european civs and do Africa, América or even East Asia
Georgian wonder
Armenian wonder
Armenian composite bowman, a “skilled archer capable of piercing even the sturdiest armor”. My guess: Archer with a charge attack.
Georgian Monaspa, a “brawny calvary unit whose strength increases in numbers”. My guess: Area of effect unit boost.
Georgian/Armenian unique monastery. You can see it being used in both Armenian and Georgian pics.
Georgian unique castle with the Georgian flag.
Warrior priests, "an infantry unit that can fight and heal allied units.” My guess: Infantry unit with the healing ability of monks.
New Persian UU. Hope they didn’t sacrifice the iconic War Elephant for that.
Unnamed second Persian UU. My guess: Unique upgrade to Steppe Lancer.
Mobile drop-off sites. Considering you can see it in both Armenian and Georgian screenshots, it’s still unclear who’s going to use it.
Still unknown:
Model of the Armenian castle.
EDIT: Fixed wonders
EDIT EDIT: Apparently I was right from the get go
So looks like the Armenian wonder will be the Etchmiadzin Cathedral
And the Georgian looks like a mix of the Alaverdi Monastery and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral
You got that reversed. The top one is quite clearly the Cathedral of Ani, an Armenian building.
But there’s a Georgian castle in the same screenshot for the top one. I’m of course not 100% sure and promotional material is treacherous. I’ll change it if you’re sure.
I’m positive. I’ve done the most research on this topic out of anyone in the forum.
What’s going on with that fourth screenshot? Are the Persians getting the South Asian architecture set but with Central Asian monasteries? Seems weird.
Persians are Muslims/Zoroastrist is probably the train of thought. Would have preferred Central Asian. Maybe it’s also just for a campaign.
This I’m pretty sure with how passionate you are. I’ve read a book about Georgia and Armenia but I still have some other ones to read. Quite often new DLCs dictate my lecture 11
That’s actually the Georgian Wonder, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. The other one is the Cathedral of Ani, but restored.
Left one is SL. Right one is a new unit, right?
Also it seems like no Caravansary for Persians. The building is a scenario only building already available.
Where? Am I mistaking a castle with an wonder?
