Yeah. Interestingly enough in the scene from the second pic that same building is rotated two different ways which is odd. Also from the second pic that looks I think like Imperial age architecture given how the TC looks different from other buildings other than the presumable longhouse. Dunno if that means anything but its interesting at least.
Like what the hell? This has got to be a major downhill for Age of Empires 2, and the short-term profit is not something that should be prioritize, but yet, corporate greed gets in the way.
if the OG vikings just get a new architecture…fine
if they replace OG vikings with another unholy abominations, then the most reasonable response is “go fuck yourselves, give me a refund for the entire game”
so the unique units are Varangian Guards, Mounted Crossbowmen, Longships (how the fuck are they new??), Jomsviking, Hearth Troop, and the Jarl
not to mention how stupid “Jarl” as a unique unit is and a JomsVIKINGS being a unit. what’s next, are we going to get GerTeutons as a unit for the French?
It’s all so tiresome. Can’t people at least talk about the good parts? Ah, but here I am complaining about other people. Thank you for your positivity, at least.
oh god. i hadn’t even noticed that they were two different things.
not quite. espcially in early Bulgaria basically any member of nobility was a Bolyar, so it’s more in line with “Samurai”. Whereas Jarl is fairly limited to the ruler of a region. in that it’s more similar to “Duke”, “Prince”, or “Chieftain”.
Norse would be a cooler name than Norwegians IMHO.
Will this be a different unit from the existing Longboat?
So no later Saxonian elements, like the Hanse? Kinda disappointing. I guess none of the new civs is going to cover much more than until the end of the Viking era.
And this probably means they won’t represent Henry the Lion in Barbarossa campaign?
Really hoping they’ll be added to more Euro civs.
Yeah, I’d have assumed Danes were more high medieval based with heavy cavalry and Queen Margaret campaign.
The thing is, Devs explicitely asked to keep telling them what you don’t like.
That’s what parts of the community started doing, repetitvely. So In order to be heared everybody who would like to see something from the devs has to follow the zeitgeist.
Instead of kindly asking for what you actually want, complain about all and everything you don’t like. The devs will figure it out, clearly.
I think the best way to handle this is now, to do it all as community exactly that way, so the devs get the most insight of what we DONT want in the game.
I don’t understand the civ designers as someone who has done this for decades I’m always baffled and wonder if just a smidge of code skill can really usurp thinking shrewdly
I’m worried we’re not gonna have just one FC conqs civ anymore but several. I hope they take the DLC release (or more likely the post release patch) as an opportunity to nerf conq frame delay a bit. I should probably go terrorize the ladder a bit more with that strat…
