Hopefully an Asian DLC with Tibetans, Jurchen, and maybe Tai and Afghans.
But can settle with African or Balkan dlc.

Need to look at old news pages to have some puzzle pictures.
Gokturks, Tibetans, Jurchens and Khitans would be a dream. New architecture for Nomads and Chinese! Please let this be true!
Those were really thrilling days with the hype and the excitement and speculation!
There is no such thing in the game. Moreover, the Slavs were nomads who came to Europe from the Central Asian steppes. When they began to settle, they created dugouts. Only Christianization and settlers from Europe contributed to the emergence of real buildings for Slavs.
I have two theories about the lonely achievement. The first one is that it can’t be for a campaign, because for the past DE dlc since LotW I think every campaign came with four achievement (one for beating the campaign and three for completing secondary challenges in three different scenarios). So there’s no new campaign, but we could get a new civ (though I think in recent dlc we got one achievement for winning a game with the new civs and another one for, again, completing a secondary achievement using the civ’s mechanics). And the only civ which I think could be added to the game without a new campaign would be… the Romanians/Vlachs, because they already have one.
The second theory is that there are other achievements, but they were meant to become visible later and this one appearing in Steam is either a teaser or just someone’s screwup.
I suppose the Serbians could go either way. The Eastern European Monastery and Imperial Age buildings are somewhat accurate, but the rest of the set is nowhere close.
Please don’t give us Victors and Vanquished Part 2
Crazy speculation - This DLC will make Krakenmaster’s civ design tools official. The achievement is “Make a custom civ and win a multiplayer game with that civ”.
I don’t know if it is what we think it is, but if it is, then it’d be amazing if we get one of these two:
-Tibetans, jurchens, kithans, tais.
and nomad arch.set, or divide east asia into two new arch.sets (group1: japanese, koreans, vietnamese. group2: chinese, jurchens, kithans).
-Chimus, waris, tiwanakus, purepechas.
and andean arch.set.
It was funny to read all these comments in which people expressed their DREAMS, but did not say a word about what it could be for real. The only fact we have is that some content will be released for the anniversary…
The experience of the latest dlcs should have taught us that while we argue who of us will get his dream come true, in the end such content comes out that NOBODY wanted.
Now imagine - what if it is a disaster? Adding new paid animated avatars, transferring campaigns from AoE 1 for an additional fee, skins from Minecraft and replacing scouts with rainbow unicorns… In the current realities, such garbage happens in gamedev left and right.
The Forgotten African Conquerors or directly The Forgotten Conquerors to include America too xd…
Pfff… AoE 2 free to play can have like 100k players, although smufs and hackers might come in droves…
Yes, that would be a new regional DLC that would split a large civ (Slavs-Chinese) or go into another not so explored territory (like India in DoI or Africa)…
They gave us Kings of Africa custom campaign xd…
Yes, that’s true, you have to keep your expectations low and realistic…

Sorry man, this game isn’t expensive and the game doesn’t offer a friendly experience, millions know and have the game already, the game stopped the growing tendency several years ago, yeah it might have some exponential grow the first week but then it will go down, the game is unstable, full of crashes, game breaking bugs, path finding is cancerous, balance is a joke in most maps and yeah the game lacks of anti cheat system and active moderators tracking them in real time, the last cheaters got boring before being punished.
The only way for this game to thrive again is a re-make with the less civs available for multiplayer experience, a better path finding and a new engine that actually supports multicore on the cpu and hardware acceleration, in case you didn’t know increasing the resolution in this game punishes the cpu instead of the gpu that is why most people lags cause they want to play above their resolutions, oh and the game is running in 2D instead of 3D.
The devs should have focused in multiplayer experience before milking the community with lesser civs and gimmick bonuses that ruined the competitive mechanics of the vainilla game, then stability and game modes in order to offer conditions for the multiplayer to keep growing instead of more single player content, now is too late.
Yeah you are right. We shouldn’t draw conclusions too early.
It could, yeah, but once we’ve considered this option, is it really interesting to build new hypothesis out of it? Like, what is the most inventive way this dlc could be trash?
I don’t know, I’d rather talk about my hopes than delve into cynicism, if we come to the point where no optimism for the game is possible then I won’t have much to do in this community.
I understand your point, but now we already have one warning sign - only 1 hidden achievement has been added. Just 1. If this does not change before release, this will mean that the DLC does not represent a full-fledged campaign and there is no talk of 3 normal stories or even V&V 2. It may turn out to be a dummy like “celebrate the event” which will mean just entering game on a certain date or complete a 5-day event there or tear yourself apart in the next senseless challenge like “Mangut madness”.
I have a bad feeling about this.
Aren’t most players single player players?
Yes, but those don’t matter because something something what matter is what I like.
Yes, maybe I was a bit overly optimistic, but yes… I don’t think the game will go higher than this… unless they add several powerful QOLs updates that revitalize the game…
This is probably the most disingenuous comment about AoE2 DE I have ever seen.
