sorry friends, I just feel wronged and couldn’t hold back the negative feelings I’ve been receiving from him.
To the topic, I think there may have no very clear information or hints recently. The official may have been troubled by the professional competition. Maybe there will be more information after the DLC of AoM or the DLC of AoE3 is released. There should be clearer information at least 3 months before this DLC released, I guess.
When and where did I say that this thread is my topic? I was merely providing a suggestion I didn’t claim anything else, but then you went on lecturing me about how I should add the Ele Skirm as one of the UU of the Chams. Look go create your own civ build if you really like such an unit.
It’s anachronistic, and the medieval meaning of this term was totally different from its modern usage. Unless you can show me the evidence that in medieval period the term “Han Chinese” already existed and already applied to all of China, which you never did.
Well if you aren’t then why you acted passive aggressive and defensive against me when I said that this term is anachronistic and that the inhabitants of Far South China weren’t considered Han? Again go read the first-hand accounts from Tang and Song eras if you don’t believe me.
And I remember clearly it was you who first brought up China vs Taiwan, despite the fact that our discussion had nothing to do with this issue. And even then I told you that I support the autonomy of Taiwan, yet you still acted defensive against me.
You presumed that since I’m of mainland origin so I must be political, which is why you went political against me in the first place. Yet I purely focused on historical discussions I couldn’t care less if you are from Taiwan or from another place. I care about historical facts pure and simple, and the historical fact is 12th century Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, and Yunnan weren’t considered Han.
Every time you acted defensive and passive aggressive against me and presumed that I’m this or that and even said that I had political motives, despite the fact that I’m only focusing on historical discussions.
And perhaps you don’t notice it but you definitely have a rather condescending or lecturing tone or voice when you interact with me. Change your tone first.
The overall tower and structure are still way more similar to a Japanese castle than to Chinese fortifications. It’s a fact.
And even the balconies and roofs aren’t that similar to medieval Chinese structures. I know that plenty of Chinese and Taiwanese online are blindly claiming that Japanese architecture is a 1:1 copy of the Tang, but the reality is that’s not the case they did have their own uniqueness. I know reality can be hard to accept sometimes but you gotta deal with it. You can start by searching the difference between Japanese 唐破风 and medieval Chinese 抱厦. I won’t bother translating the terms here since they’re off-topic but you can search them on your own since I know well that you understand Chinese.
Well guess what I hold similar negative feelings towards you, and it has nothing to do with Taiwan.
I mean, seemed fairly obvious from the start. I re-watched a video of his from last year about Battle Elephants (keep getting recommended elephant stuff lately…) and he mentioned Mountain Royals potentially containing a new civ with Battle Elephants or giving it to Persians. So clearly he’s just making educated guesses, nothing more.
Not to be a pedant, but he only mentioned that in the context of the then upcoming Persian re-work. Not specifically TMR.
I think that’s missing the point slightly. If you recall back to TMR, when it was announced, a whole bunch of content creators had videos ready to go. so MS HAS allowed content creators a, and this is important, short window of early access in the past to help market a game.
The above example of the battle elephant video was over a month before TMR was announced.
I wasn’t a proponent of the theory, but as I understood it to be, MS let the aoe2 content creators in on what was coming a few days ahead of time, and invited them to create videos in some obtuse hint and hype campaign, that’d have a few days of videos then an announcement.
So SOTL not having any insider information about a different DLC, over a month before it’s announcement, I don’t believe was informative to the present theory, again as I understood it to be.
The fact that no such tease and hype campaign has subsequently materialized however is relevant to the present theory.
Well we won’t get videos before a reveal. So we can’t really draw anything from a lack of videos about the DLC meaning it isn’t coming soon.
As really at this point, I think the devs have kept a much tighter lid on everything than before. So we’re unlikely to get anything concrete until official reveals start.
Even the voice clips don’t sit right with me. As during DoI, we had staff popping in hyping things up, getting people to keep looking for more etc. Here, there’s nothing.
It isn’t that lack of other obtuse hinting videos is proof that an announcement isn’t coming, only that SOTL’s video wasn’t part of such a campaign as was theorized.
For starters the few hints we have point towards China, very limited elephant usage there. Then there’s just how goofy the video was, clearly a bit of fun, and the only reason we had no mention of bombard/hand cannon elephants was the fact that they were real and thus wouldn’t be funny.
Lastly though…I think this lack of concrete info has people jumping at shadows. Looking for anything that might hold a clue.
That could have many meanings.
Laughing at the context. That there’s all this discussion, and they are posting memes.
They simply found it funny.
Or it could have been a taunt. Granted I did find it a little funny that they used this old meme format that had “steal” in its name, and the voice clips have a raider theme. But again, could just be nothing.
I assume it’s nothing but it shows they are engaging, at least some, with the community. Granted it was a different post, and it was an obvious joke so they don’t really tip their hand. So IDK if it’s a deliberate attempt to not engage and hype with those posts, or as of yet nothing has been sufficiently funny. They definitely don’t seem to be going out of their way to engage.
Yeah. Just feels very much the kind of humour a dad sends his kids over FB…
OOOOF!
Yeah. Although the Mountain Royals had a meme-like post 9 days before reveal that was in retrospect a hint. But there was nothing to indicate it was, no engagement at all.
And it’s not like they are going to encourage us sniffing around in the files or anything.
Also something I just spotted. When files are updated, the language files for the main game and DLC are separate. What’s interesting is that I mentioned the order of the languages updating before, and it seems that the windows ones still use the old “almost alphabetical” style (unless German is Deutsche internally, then it is alphabetical). But the DLC is using this odd one with Traditional Chinese first, and Simplified Chinese last.
So the order wasn’t changed between V&V’s release and DLC 5. It’s changed only for this DLC for some reason.
