Next DLC will be REALLY BIG!

Yes, I know, and that leaves two civs with overlapping bonuses.

Supplies being a requirement for Gambesons makes a bit more sense. Like, first you get the soldiers the food they need, then the equipement. It’s far-fetched, but it’s the only logical explanation. On the other hand, Arson being a requirement does not make any sense, so it shouldn’t be.

Pass it over here. 11

You can research directly. You can see that from leaked tech tree. (Probably Khitans)

New candidate civ for the best cavalry just dropped. 11

So the “regional unit” category we’ve been talking about for years is now official. We can expect new bonuses for new civs yay!

I love most of the changes, specially the new castles, new monks and all the regional stuff
Amazing! This new UU model rework and giving them extra stats for the elite versions :kissing_heart:

I don’t like what they did to jaguar warriors. Imo making them faster and dealing more anti-infantry damage was better.
Now they are a unit more multi purpose-like …and less specialized anti-infantry. They overlap more with champions who are cheaper in the next update; plus there is also garland wars affecting champions.
Wasn’t the whole point of reworking them to make them different than champions, giving jaguar warrior a chance to fulfill their role, so players have solid reasons to train them?

Everything else is wonderful. I’m loving this dlc already

EDIT: why are mamelukes still riding a camel? It should be a white arabian horse.

So Khitans will have HCA in Castle Age. But no Bloodlines or Knight or any replacement. I bet their SL will have discount.

Need to see how Pastures work.

Did we figure out all the 9 castles? Reddit says top left is Vietnamese for sure.

Hue Imperial city.

Bottom left : Byzantines. The structure of the walls remind me of the Theodosian Walls

Left : I’d need a higher res to see the banner well. Maybe Ethiopians

Top center : looks south-east-asian with the pagoda room. Burmese ?

Borrom center : definitely Portuguese, it looks like the Tower of Belem

Center : Vikings

Top right : looks slightly east asian, some paper walls like in Japan. Koreans ?

Bottom right : Persians, leaning toward the central asian architecture some are screaming they should get
(Yes, they should get it)

Right : Chinese probably

Edited. Any guess why you think it is Ethiopians and not other 2 African civs?

Excellent eyes.

Berbers would probably be more ornate (Morocco, Andalusia). Then between Ethiopians and Malians it wasn’t far from a coin flip…

Some pictures that I have stolen from reddit.

Fasilides Palace = Ethiopians

Hwaseomun Gate = Koreans

Theodosian Walls of Constantinople = Byzantines

Castelo da Feira = Portuguese

Kerman city = Persians

These leave us with only 1 unconfirmed Castle - The top right.

Guess might be Mongol or Khitan

I have a feeling that JW buff won’t see the light. I’ll predict they will get 13 and 15 attack instead of 15 and 19.

This one should be Chinese castle, as it has a typical Chinese structure 阙, the two towers in front of it.

I hate that you’re probably right about this one, since this building is outside the AoE2 timeline.

The supposed Ethiopean castle also appears in their Home City screen in AoE 3:
