Revolutions definitely do need a rework.
I mean you can turn into the USA in a game that also has the USA as an independent civilisations.
I think political revolutions like the French Revolutions or the Revolutions of 1848 could work very well.
Rename Germany into HRE and make Germany a Revolution.
I kinda like when he adds a new strat, as usually as soon as a video of him comes out people tend to try it online, becoming quite predictable, and if you watch him yourself it allows you to know what to scout for and what to expect, making it easy to plan a counter build.
I propose getting rid of Revolutions entirely, and replacing it with a better system, that gives the player more options, not less, for a price.
Imagine USA fighting against USA, where have I seen that before in 19th century.
congrats on being part of the problem
Thanks! Iâm glad to meet people who appreciate my work! <3
He is not wrong. The majority of the AoE playerbase are History buffs and enthusiasts, and we dislike the addition of the USA to game that not only starts in the 1500s, but also already had a Revolution system PRECISELY to include this kind of civs.
Then the devs went even further and gave the USA an almost fully unique roster, when most Euro civs have between 1 and 3 unique units, not to mention an almost fully Steam powered Navy roster, while Euros have Caravels and Galleons.
It stinks of American Exceptionalism, and makes people dislike the whole affair.
There were far better choices of ACTUAL civilizations to add into the game, as the USA was not even a people group, and had no unified and unique culture during this period (Nation of Immigrants).
Yeah and âclaiming victory because others get downvotedâ, âasking why people are not downvoting othersâ and âaccusing others to have bullied him because he got downvotedâ are TRUELY NOT WRONG.
And definitely justifies someoneâs point that reddit is toxic because of downvoting.
BTW, Japan has super musketeers that outmatch every single European unit (which are imported from Portugal) and superhuman samurais, they even have their own entire set of consulate units, so TAD is definitely made by weebs.
Every native and Asian civ has full unique rosters so thatâs Native American and Asian exceptionalism.
And I can see the same group of peopleâs arguments if US is an European civ with 1 unique building and 2 unique units: LOW EFFORT CASH GRAB!
In discussions of news media, an echo chamber refers to situations in which beliefs are amplified or reinforced by communication and repetition inside a closed system and insulated from rebuttal. By participating in an echo chamber, people are able to seek out information that reinforces their existing views without encountering opposing views, potentially resulting in an unintended exercise in confirmation bias. Echo chambers may increase social and political polarization and extremism. The term is a metaphor based on an acoustic echo chamber, in which sounds reverberate in a hollow enclosure. Another emerging term for this echoing and homogenizing effect within social media communities on the Internet is cultural tribalism. Many scholars note the effects that echo chambers can potentially have on citizensâ stances and viewpoints, and specifically implications has for politics.
Talking about timeline or âhistorical inaccuracyâ everyday. But choose to blind on multiple mistakes from beginning when the game was release since 2005. I never saw people complain about âSomething out of place or timelineâ down below before United States release, really triggered me to writing the post. So stop complain, donât acting like you really care about âhistorical accuracyâ,alright? Obviously mistakes from beginning with out be complained: Storyline battle âAct 5:Shadowâ,already reached to 1870s especially General George Armstrong Custerâs showed up and Battle of the Little Bighorn. Without above,Lakota wonât have cavalry with rifles and infantry equip with modern rifles. How about âout lawâ units? Why the hell no one ever complain about revolver and Winchester Model 1894 rifle appears in 1600s-1700s,especially âcowboyâ and âWild Westâ??? https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Comanchero https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Pistolero https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Renegado Are you gonna tell me âIndustrial Ageâ is not âpost colonial ageâ which is 19th centuries? The model of 4-4-0 locomotive is super advanced enough! Is this looks like production of 18th centuries??? Why the hell no one complain with anger and said: âwhat the â â â â Aztec is doing with model 4-4-0?!â You have chance to ârevoltâ to Latin America nations, theses nations include United States were revolt to their motherland during 1770s and before 1850s,why the hell no one question Gatling gun and Ironclad shouldnât show up AGAIN??? Last absurd as I remember from beginning is Ottoman Empire. No one ever question a civilization that never colonial America New World as playable civilization is the most ridiculous situation. I bet Ensemble Studios never consider a villain for Saint Knight scenario will force them expansion Africa maps and civilizations, otherwise no one can explain and justify the reason they showed up. You have multiple situations like modern California map after Mexican War in the game ,weapons and units etc in 19th centuries, are you still want to tell me United States is âout of timeline and placeâ??? But I finally still agree European civilizations should look like more advanced as late of 19th centuries âIndustrial Age standardâ and upgrade the equipment as United States,so they will no longer looks like âWEIRDâ.
I am Lakota, yes.
I hate the tribal marketplace. Itâs a woke bandaid that does nothing for the representation of my people, nor our beliefs. Iâd rather have it be a building like the Japanese Shrine that you build on a mine and generate XP from passively, or maybe some gold.
Personally, I think gold generation with the Lakota and Hauds should have something similar to that of the old AoM Markets and the caravan units. Itâd make far more sense, and when used with allies itâd come across as generating gold via trade, since we wouldnât be mining it.
@SoullessHeathen
Itâs not an accurate system at all. The whole purpose is for pro-play level balance - the Lakota and Hauds must have some sort of interaction with the mines to prevent them from being more powerful than other civs in the early game especially. Some interaction must exist.
Personally, I like the idea of using the tribal marketplace as a gather point that Villagers walk to an allied structure and then back again to generate coin, acting as a sort of trade route. The engine should be capable of doing this - itâs the same engine that was used to build AoM, just upgraded.
Another buff I want for the Lakota is to have the Warrior Culture card be available either sooner or as a Market upgrade available after Spirit Medicine, for a large amount of food. That upgrade would be super helpful in the mid game for the Lakota.
To be fair, people do ask such questions about the original game.
But some of them either (1) circumvent them by saying âyes they are inaccurate but not as inaccurate as the USâ OR (2) go all the way to make up zigzag stories and whatifs to justify these inaccuracies like âOh maybe the devs were assuming Ottomans also sent explorers to the Americas in a parallel universe back in 2006 because they were a large empire so they could do that, as well as all the European-based mercenaries and Japanese Ronins because what if someone also sent them to the Americasâ.
Give them another 10 years and theyâll have the time and mental effort to develop similar theories and object new additions to AOE3:DE:DE.
I do miss trading from AoM, it was a really nice mechanic. They could have the villagers act like trade caravans from that game, moving between the Tribal Marketplace and a friendly town center (including your own) and generating âcoinâ based on the length of the trip. They can even use the animations from the Barter Merchant to show which villagers are carrying âcoinâ back to the Marketplace.
Iâm sorry, but where did you receive your history lesson? The USA was definitely itâs own people group during their war with Great Britain and after killing many English soldiers along the way. You might be right about culture, but itâs common for many real world civilisations to borrow cultures from others, that however doesnât make them any less civilized or insignificant.
Your comment would be the same as complaining how the Romans shouldnât exist in Age of Empires I because theyâre just an amalgamation of the Etruscans and Greeks civilizations.
I didnât play Lakota from the original edition, how are they now different in DE? They said they consulted with the real Lakota community, can you expand more on how woke is the tribal marketplace?
Still does not address wether my point is correct or not. This is a technical non-answer, that only seeks to imply the community, or myself, are biased, because we only listen to our own viewpoints on repeat.
That is not a good defence for USA being in the game, specially the way they are.
Why allow for discussion of crap opinions?
âEcho chambersâ aka peace and unity
I donât remember that in AoM haha
I know from RoN, RoL however
