Yes many people and ms write this title on forum. But indeed it bring more thing from China on roof.

Look at Japanese they have the roof smaller, and get some details different with some doom on the roof,. It is independent from Japanese not any other area East Asia have.( It same with Viet, Korea too although 3 country have affected from China).
So anyway get regional architecture mod after get independent castle? Because I really love monastery with Buddha, and university with confucius statue. Could it happen I mean it work? Sorry because I just have knowledge about East Asia other Culture hard for me. This castle still better for Chinese. So many mod of Abejin, Yakko and Other still better. Although have some imagine
The regional architecture mod is the only thing I miss from the HD edition
You have to remember many of these ânomadicâ civs became settled when they grew into empires. Remember the Mongols took over Baghdad and Persia and obviously aquired all their assets. So its not out of place that they get universities in game.
Yeah but if we want to get pedantic by giving them a nomadic set youâll see them building a tent university on wheels. And even without the set they still build the uni rather than getting it.
This is speculation on your part. Also I imagine nomadic sets could ger progressively less ânomadicâ as you age up.
Thats a pretty minor details that youâll just have to deal with through your suspension of disbelief for gameplay reasons.
Yes haha,on DE you search Yakko Chinese and you will find out one. Nice
Iâm pretty confident weâre never going to get a full building on wheels lol (Mule cart doesnât count)
I think I will miss some castles. Playing from 1999 make this topic nostalgic.
I liked the Western and Nordic castles the most. Iâm glad they change for Persian, Byzantines though.
I donât like the new viking castleâŚ
I hope they make a new one for franks, I donât like this one. It looks like the union of the burgundian and the central-europe castle, but somehow looks worse than both.
Iâd rather say it looks like mixing a renaissance Château de la Loire that didnât even pretend to look defensible (such as Chambord) with an earlier actually fortified castle. Hence the ornaments on the roof that seem very out of place. 100% actually french but mixing different periods without logic.
It being in the files but not used suggests the devs werenât happy about it either.
I would have also wanted them to make the Byzantine castle more massive (like the current one) to reflect its strengh. I like the new one as a part of the theodosian walls, but it is a bit on the smaller side.
Or maybe its the byzantine walls that should actually have twice the hp (not a real suggestion).
The French castle here is horrible. Looks like the Disney castle.
More modern designs are less blocky than the originals as they better benefit from the higher level of details. I didnât expect any model as massive as the original 5.
The current mediterannean model was added with de. It is blocky, but I thought it was fitting for Byzantines. The one they put in the sneak peek is quite small in comparison, it looks less imposing than the goth/viking one or the portuguese one. Maybe its main tower should have been larger/taller.
I think something more medieval like Carcassonne or Fougères would be nice, or something from PÊrigord⌠There is plenty to choose from.
The roof of the french castle look too much to the Chambord castle, a XVI th century castle not a medieval castle. A more medieval like Carcassonne or Fougères would be nice. This can be fixed removing the top of the towers and the XVI th century windows and chimney .
The two circles at the left are shadow of the tower and chimney to be removed.
Neither the roof nor the tower/keep itself of the current East Asian castle resembles medieval Chinese fortifications or gatehouses
Hereâre some examples of medieval Chinese fortifications/gatehouses:
One of the gatehouses of Diaoyucheng Hill Fort, built during the mid 13th century
Gate towers of the Jiayu Pass, built in the late 14th century
Gate towers of Xiâan, built in the late 14th century
Gate tower of Ganzhou, originally built in the mid 11th century, though has been renovated throughout the following centuries
Walls and gates of Zhaoqing, originally built in the 11th century, though has been renovated
I think none of them resembles the current East Asian castle.
On balance I prefer the older, chunkier designs. I think a âcastleâ that is actually just a keep makes more sense as a single building, and those graphics look more realistically scaled and proportioned relative to units. Most of the newer castles try to fit more content into the same space â they remind me of these AoK alpha castles:
The African castle in particular is very similar to that bottom one. I donât dislike them, but the more-than-just-a-keep approach makes them look a bit small, similar to AoE1 buildings.
