Original voices mod updated for fmod [not working]

Also there is a mod that restores the original noises of the Norse Ox Cart, from the cow gruffs to actually speaking - so maybe it is possible for all units?

If we can figure out how it’s done we can do it for Heroes

This is so infuriating. Clearly a very simple fix on the devs part as they did it for the campaign cutscene voices. I just don’t understand the rationale to change units like cyclops, mountain giants, etc voices in the first place?

Some even more excellent news - someone called Mani has uploaded a mod whereby the heroes (Ajax, Arkantos, etc) all use their original voicelines now both in cutscenes AND during gameplay - which means, surely, it must be possible to do it for the rest of the units that have had their legacy voicelines changed?

Now the only problem is to make it work in Daily Challenge, I don’t want to restart the game just to turn it off and do the challenge quit and turn it back on.

Do you think you could replicate Mani’s work for all the units that have had their voicelines changed then? Cyclops, Nemean Lion, all giants, valkyrie, Chimera, centaur etc? The only ones he changed are campaign heroes (and those campaign heroes such as Ajax and Odysseus in normal skirmish). You’d be the hero of the thread for sure…

I believe you’d be able ot put in Arkantos’s battlecry too seeing as you found the original files (Mani says he didn’t).

I honestly don’t know why it needs to be a data mod, considering before the sound update my mod worked fine, I just renamed the original voice lines so it overwrites the new ones.

Also I tried to get Arkantos’ battlecry to work, it doesn’t and I have no idea why.

I think the main issue is the sounds are in a bank file and the game won’t allow it to work without a soundset which is the main issue. But even with that the sounds need to be a different name so soundsets will work.

BUT the game can play them in the editor using Triggers which is why I think the cutscene dialogue works (It points to a specific file).

I also Patched the Original Voices Mod.

I think Mani was able to get it so that the heroes now speak in normal skirmish WITHOUT use of triggers, so surely its now possible to apply that to all units. I’ve tried the mod out and it works, no need for triggers, odysseus, ajax and chiron sound fine in normal skirmish

After Japanese update took minimap away, I just downloaded extended edition and was ready to replay campaigns there
No offense to current VA, but old Castor and Amanra are so much better fitting
I also tried your mods, Digimon, but my main issue with Castor was unfixed sadly. I will go with your patch to yeebagoon mod and finally replay all campaigns as happy man :stuck_out_tongue:

All we need now is someone to take Mani’s work and redo all the original unit voicelines!

Have you had any luck using what Mani did for the hero voicelines for the other units too? Seems you know a bit about modding (a lot more than I for sure) so was wondering if you’d had a look/tinker to see if we can get all original voicelines back as Mani has done for the heroes?

Massive Breakthrough!

Moving the Greek.bank and Spc.bank and having the sounds in a mod folder Restores functionality, but you’ll have to extract and re-add the current sounds first so that the Greek and Spc voice lines not replaced are not mute.

Excellent job mate! Your hard work won’t go unappreciated if you’re able to crack this nut and get our beloved OG voicelines back!

The only thing wrong is the Japanese SPC Heroes, I can’t seem to find out where to put them so everything goes together.

I watched a video on YouTube (https://youtu.be/dJrri-7-8i4) where someone easily changes the sound using the CryBarEditor program.

I haven’t been able to try it myself, as I’m not a native English speaker and couldn’t understand all the steps, and ultimately failed, but it seems possible.

Below is the method I tried to change Medusa’s sound

I placed medusa.xml in the path
C:\Users\guestID\Games\Age of Mythology Retold\number\mods\local\my mod name\game\data\gameplay

I placed the soundsets_greek.soundset file in the path
C:\Users\guestID\Games\Age of Mythology Retold\number\mods\local\my mod name\game

And I placed the .wav files I wanted to use in the path
C:\Users\guestID\Games\Age of Mythology Retold\number\mods\local\my mod name\game\sound\greek\vo\medusa

But I failed.
If you happen to try it and get good results, I would be grateful if you could let me know.
